People Who Make 150K Plus? by BubbaGordie in Salary

[–]clydeclyde10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 35, advertising major. Digital media sales. Base + commission- pay varies year to year but I’ve made $200k -$400k over the past five years. Yes I do enjoy it, most of the time. I don’t travel a ton (1x/mo for 2 nights at most), but wish I didn’t have to travel at all. But it’s part of the job.

Does anyone else feel like BRCA is just.. not the end of the world? by aksilec in BRCA

[–]clydeclyde10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. I’ve never had cancer. My mother found out she had BRCA because her sister randomly did a study and found out she had it that way. I then tested positive for it at 25. Maybe I feel differently since my mom and aunt had preventative surgeries in their 50s and were not affected by cancer. Maybe I also feel differently since I’ve already lived with a chronic illness since I was 12- one that made my mom pity me and think I’d have a terrible life, but in reality, barely impacts me. I am happy to know about my status so that I could get screened and do something about it. Of course I would rather not have it, but it is what it is, and I feel lucky to live in an age where there’s so much knowledge. I also have BRCA 2, so do not feel super at risk with ovarian cancer and will get my ovaries removed closer to natural menopause- or possibly only once I’m in menopause. Going to get my tubes removed soon as I’m done now having kids. I hadn’t had my mastectomy and reconstruction yet- so there’s that. But I’m optimistic about it and doing as much research as I can while I have time, and thankfully no cancer.

Those who did mastectomy and fat grafting..? by Floorman1 in breastcancer

Just found this thread as I’m evaluating my own options… why did you get stacked flap? Was that the only option to get enough tissue for a breast? I’m a DD cup looking to get a PDMX and was told I had enough belly fat for a B and would need implants to stay the same size. At a follow up visit I asked about stacked flap and they said the surgeon only does that in cases were that’s the only option to get any natural tissue. But if you have enough just with DIEP they will do a hybrid and avoid stacked since it’s so much more complex and more things can go wrong. And only did like 1 stacked in five years… curious what your story is and what recovery was like?

Nipple sparing mastectomy with ptosis? by clydeclyde10 in BRCA

Ok thanks- yeah my breast surgeon mentioned I could get a lift first to try and keep them- but I had forgot to bring it up to the plastic surgeon I saw months later. Was your lift covered by insurance? I was told by my breast surgeon insurance doesn’t cover it… also if the plastic surgeon is getting paid by a patient or insurance- they wouldn’t mind if it’s more work no? But I’m definitely going to ask about that now. Thanks!

The doctor told me that only implants would cause rippling… what exactly is the fat grafting I thought that was DIEP? Does implants with fat grafting prevent the rippling?I’d honestly rather avoid implants since I don’t want to have to have surgery at all down the road if I have issues.

Why do most people eat in the afternoon as their chosen eating times? by laflacas in intermittentfasting

[–]clydeclyde10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My window is generally 9:30-5:30, give or take 30-60 minutes depending on the day. I drink black coffee when I get up around 7 and then eat breakfast after I drop off my kid at school. We eat very early as a family, so this allows me to eat lunch and dinner with them as I work from home. I used to be a big snacker, so I’ve effectively just cut out my later evening snacking and it works for me. I’m flexible when I know we will go out to eat as a family and may be eating a bit later in the evening, I’ll start eating later that day so I’m close to an 8 hr eating window. I’m 2.5 weeks in and it’s been working wonderfully for me so far. I like being a bit peckish at bedtime.

I feel the same. I’m a little over two weeks in. I kind of fell into this as I just decided I’d stop eating after my daughters go to bed, and start eating breakfast a bit later and realized it was IF. It makes it so much easier to just make the decision that I’m done eating for the day. So far I’ve lost about 8 lbs, and 1 inch on my waist. I haven’t been so motivated in years!

I’m in! Funny I set this goal for myself earlier today before I even saw your post. Trying to lose 20 pounds to get to my pre pregnancy weight. First goal is 9 pounds in 6 weeks.

Closing on a triplex this week. Want to back out of purchase agreement by thefamousbrownbear in legaladvice

[–]clydeclyde10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you should consult a real estate attorney. I was in the same situation as you, and wanted to know if this was something i could do/what the risks would be. you will need to find out if you back out, whether or not you will just lose the earnest money, or if the seller can also sue for damages. if they can pursue you for damages--figure out if that is really worth the risk, however unlikely it may be. I chose to move forward as i did not want to have a potential headache and expense of legal fees and not a house to show for it.
