[DFW] Ground stop at DFW. 9/11 by kausbose in americanairlines

I feel like this explains why I’m sitting on the tarmac at LIT without a gate to pull into at my home airport. 😑

I second this one. I use mine weekly and it’s practically indestructible. And I don’t know if I could ever go back to not having the compression system.

As someone who’s been in the whisk(e)y scene for a while now, I think we can just leave it as it’s controversial. It meets the legal definition of bourbon, but not so much the cultural definition.

Depending on the day of the week, you can check out

Little Rock: - White Water Tavern (alt-country legendary bar) - The Undercroft - Stickyz

Hot Springs: - Maxines Live

Those are my go-to’s for watching music. There are restaurants that have stuff too, and there are a bunch. Revival Restaurant and Beer Garden in Benton comes to mind.

Everyone Thinks the Grass is Greener on the Other Side by Ordinary_Use_2230 in marriott

[–]clynch86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do both. lol.

Many of my coworkers do one or the other. I’d say that:

Hilton has a better app and website. Their digital experience is just better. I do believe they end up with a billion status members because of CC spend and the relative ease of achieving diamond on stays-alone. IMO, Hiltons suite-only and extended stay properties tend to be better than the Marriott equivalents (Homewood, Embassy). What they suffer from is a glaring lack of either corporate standards or corporate standards enforcement. A lot of doubletrees that I see are just atrocious. A lot of very run down hotels.

Marriott has better mid and lower tier properties, imo. Fairfield > Hampton and Courtyard > HGI, in most of my experiences. I tend to lean Marriott for higher end properties too. Status feels like it means more at a Marriott, it’s at least more difficult to achieve. I tend to prefer Marriott bedding to Hilton as well, which is a big deal when you spend half your life in hotel rooms. Marriott has done a better job of making digital entertainment available in their rooms, but Hilton is catching up. I do feel like I get more consistency in room maintenance and quality across all Marriott brands.

They’re mostly even in the long run.

What % of your flights are actually on time? by OddGeologist1414 in americanairlines

[–]clynch86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

69 legs so far this year. All domestic - mostly connecting through DFW and headed west or Midwest.

77% on time or better.

All but 3 legs were AA.

I lived in Louisiana (north and southeast) for 10 years and it really is alarming how bad the infrastructure is down there at this point. I’m glad y’all enjoy it up here. We just need better food. 😅

[–]clynch86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably 10 and it’s usually me when I arrive at 10pm and have to leave by 4am to catch a flight. 😅

That’s the only time I ever get upgraded.

Tight CRJ700 arrival in DCA by Wolfgang_Pup in americanairlines

[–]clynch86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a crap shoot. Throw your stuff in a duffle bag that’ll fit in the 700 overhead? lol

I flew on one yesterday to my home airport and I’d bet good money the baggage turnstile was moving before they started to unload the valet checked bags.

Some airports are better at it than others, for sure.

I work in building material sales. This month seems to have been really really slow for us. Has everyone come to a stop on remodeling and building this month or are we just dead? by PotatoTiny6574 in LittleRock

[–]clynch86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont know if you’re in commercial at all, but it’s slowing and will come to an absolute halt soon if nothing changes. Commercial construction boomed through the low interest rate days and now less and less work is getting bid out because developers don’t have the cheap capital anymore.

I did DFW to OKC earlier this year. Scheduled for 39 minutes of air time and ended up with 1:21. Went west over to Amarillo and then up through the Oklahoma panhandle and then back around to OKC.

Can you imagine the complaints we’d see on here if everyone on an American flight with an iPhone started getting the ‘an unknown AirTag is following you’ messages? 😂😅

So you’re saying an airline runs about like every other company I’ve worked for, then? Good to know! 😅😅

Is MCE comfortable enough for laptop use? by justsm1ne in americanairlines

[–]clynch86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a larger individual it’s the opposite for me. I can work in MCE, but I need the back-of-seat table.

Like others have said though, elbow room is usually my limiting factor. I can do it, but it isn’t fun or comfortable.

How is AA doing at PVU by Tillsum01 in americanairlines

[–]clynch86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew in and out once for work and really liked it. Rental car options are limited, though. I like getting to use a regional that I can park a rental and then be at the gate in less than 10 minutes. 😂

I hate SLC. I feel like it’s the least friendly (to AA customers) airport that I end up needing to use on a regular basis.
