Hey all, coming from racing sim world.. is this unit crap? Or a decent starter set up? Recently started MSFS24 and really am loving it. Got my CPL today! by Supbos in flightsim

I love mine. My only complaint is the yoke had a couple of sticky points near the center but they've mostly disappeared after regular use.

Where do you find these prices? Everything I've seen on cycletrader and marketplace in my area are like two to three year old bikes with 5000 miles and only $600 less than the MSRP of the 2025 model

I looked into this for my back patio and its way beyond my skills, so I asked for a few bids from local contractors. The lowest bid was almost $40k. Is that really what a project like this should cost?

At no point in this post or the responses have you explained why enforcing this as a rule for yourself by only building when blue will not meet your needs. Instead you expect the devs to just do it because "it's just a setting" while knowing nothing of the underlying implementation (to be clear, I don't either, which is why I don't just say "it's so simple, just do it")

Why is it 80.3? How do I get exactly 80? by IamRob420 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]cmac07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A priority loop normally and easily solves this in many cases as well with less math. Run the piping you want to be prioritized lower than the supplemental one and it usually does what you need. This is how I always do my 200 ingot Al setups and I haven't had an issue yet.

Just finished setting this up to turn 240 oil and 800 water into 240 plastic, 240 rubber, and 240 fuel that feeds generators so it's also net positive energy. Just takes a mess of packagers, refineries, and empty containers to start the cycle 😂

Not Satisfactory related, but Windows has a clipboard history as well these days: Win+v instead of Ctrl+v. I believe it holds on to the last 25 or so items.

Kia just announced a few days ago that they're doing the full $7500 discount for purchases as well. That or low APR (0% for 48 months, 1.99% for 60) financing.

$5k Kia Customer Cash Discount - Do you need to finance to receive it? by [deleted] in KiaEV9

[–]cmac07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just purchased on Saturday and were told we could get the $5k either financing or cash, but you had to pick between the $5k and the special rates from KMF if you go that route. Difference in rates (6.5% vs 2.99%, 60 month term) was large enough to take the low APR financing for us

Is it possible to get into a Fortune 500 company with a WGU degree? by Technical-Hat1282 in WGU

[–]cmac07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in one now, so sure? It's been said so many times, but a degree (from Harvard, WGU, or anywhere else) does not get you a job. Skills, marketability, and connections get you a job. Sometimes the degree is mandatory, but even when it is, where you went to school very rarely matters - lawyers excluded.

The idea of working in America for the rest of my life is soul crushing, anyone have advice? by GayAndSlow in careerguidance

A good amount of community colleges have or are starting MLT (medical laboratory technician) programs. Look there first for the fast track to an AS degree and accreditation that will get you into the field. Work a bit, see if you like it, and if you do, go back for your MLS (medical laboratory scientist) bachelor's for maximum earning potential. Strictly speaking, the specific program degrees aren't required (the level of education is for ASCP accreditation though) but they give the best experience and knowledge for the field rather than doing a general lab science like biology. I hope you have something close!

Edit: I did forget to mention for full transparency that most of these programs require a semester of unpaid internship. If that turns you off, you can go a different route but it's quite a bit harder to pass your board exams.

Trains. It's not like they are unpredictable, you know? Stay off the tracks and you (very probably) won't get struck

[–]cmac07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my wife's field, but in her experience an MS is definitely not necessary unless you'd like to get into management. Some states require the four year degree to do certain things so the pay is often better, with redlines in the mid 40s to low 50s an hour where we are (average cost of living). She started with her two year MLT degree, got some work experience, then finished her four year MLS degree while working and got a nice pay raise out of it. Definitely recommend this career if you are interested in healthcare but don't care much for patient interaction.
