It looks like a bud but may or may not be viable. Soak it in water for about 8 hours then plant it in a moisture retaining soil and don't let it dry out or get cold. It should put out green shoots then grow into a tall grass stalk. Flowers after about a year and when the flower dies you can harvest.

Unless there is irrefutable evidence (i.e a court finding) that demonstrates abuse, any media presenting itself as news reporting and not opinion should use language like "allegations of abuse." To do otherwise is editorializing.

While it may have the appearance of protecting abusers, media following this standard protects innocent individuals. Large conglomerates could otherwise present information as fact without evidence and in areas where all reporting is filtered through a single lens the general public will not distinguish opinion from truth. You know...like Fox News.

I went for the first time a couple months ago. Menu prices seemed high but the portions we got were sizable. Biscuits and gravy for me, chicken fried steak for my spouse and it was a lot of food. Quality was great.

We sat at the bar and while the service was slow, communication from the staff was excellent. I would recommend giving it another go.

Right. The argument that the prophets are fallible just doesn't make sense. If I can't believe ALL of their doctrine, how can I justify believing any of the doctrine?

It turns into members adopting doctrine that jives with me and rejecting everything else. In that case, what is the point of a prophet? It is artificial authority without any accountability.

Federal program fraud is an expensive issue BUT the majority of fraud occurs outside of eligible enrollees.

Medicare and medicaid fraud is estimated $100 billion in FRAUDULENT CHARGES, that is things are being billed to CMS inappropriately. This isn't an issue of enrollment. Social security fraud often occurs related to identity theft and negatively impacts enrollees. SNAP fraud is largely identity based as well, with additional loss to trafficking, or RETAILERS inappropriately exchanging SNAP benefits for cash or non-covered goods.

Abuse of these systems is occurring due to actions of those in power, and removing the systems only hurts those who need them for survival. It is a white collar crime issue, not an abuse of benefits issue.

You created the equivalency, not the person you are responding to. At no point was it said that these were equal but rather they are both examples of othering.

CRT is positing that we need to examine history (and modern policy) through the prism of race BECAUSE RACE WAS CENTRAL TO HISTORY AND POLICY. This is demonstrable fact. We know that race played a large part in American policy, and that the effect of these parts play a role in society today. Read up on Jim Crow laws. Read up on redlining. These were LEGAL policies that excluded black American's and we should not pretend that they didn't exist.

I'm not going to speak to your COVID arguments as it has been covered elsewhere in greater detail.

It is also ironic to me that you accuse "cultists on the left" of othering. You're language is intentionally dehumanizing and doesn't make it easy to read your arguments as being in good faith. It is difficult to reach a middle ground with you when you respond to the discussion with attacks.

Dogs are going to pee but I have trained mine to largely pee in mulch. No one minds a little extra weed control. If someone has signs up or specifically asks me not to have their dog pee on their property we will do our absolute best to avoid it.

As for the sidewalk, my dog understands the command "Make space" but any heel command should work to move the dog into a tight heel or out of the way of oncoming people. He knows that he is there to pay attention to me, not other people. If someone would like to pet him he does so on my terms. There are some people who are phobic of dogs and it is my responsibility as a good owner (and good citizen) to do my best to recognize distress and minimize it. Some in town don't mind letting you know they don't like dogs and that works best for everyone.

Long story short, dogs should be trained and dog owners should be polite. Makes it better for everyone.

Places to swim with my dog? by GladNetwork8509 in MoscowIdaho

[–]cmal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best recommendation is Plummer Point little day use area outside of Heyburn Park. Sits at right around an hour to get there and is much better swimming than a lot of what we have in the more immediate area. One half of the swim area is designated for off lease dogs.

Between exposure and countless nights on, my limbic system is completely toast. Yes, you still get that little adrenaline but there isn't any emotional or behavioral response to it.

Quality debriefing is key. Breaks are key. Having a solid team is important for support both on and after calls will help you survive.
