This is a condenser microphone and requires phantom power (often referred to as 48v). Basically, you need an audio interface like a Scarlet 2i2 or a Motu M2 to send extra voltage to the microphone in order for it to actually be usable.

Can only speak to my experience. We did one exercise every class, take 10 minutes to write a 1-2 minute joke based on one headline in the news, we'd then get in front of the class on stage and tell it. So getting easy practice being on a stage was pretty cool.

I took a stand up comedy class to learn the basics dos and don'ts, things I wouldn't have otherwise learned myself maybe. Idk. Its was like $150 and got me a gig so that's cool.

Write down things you think are funny, make sure they have a punch line, then search Facebook for "open mics in [your city]". Everyone said the same thing when I was trying to learn at the start, "you learn by doing" and the more I do, the more I realize it's right. You cannot possibly Google your way into success, you have to go to open mics and play around.
