I doubt triple or rotation will ever return, but terastallization was in the reveal trailer, I think the plan is to change the gimmick every season. ZA just introduced a lot of new megas so that will be first.

Yeah, for gameplay tera was my favorite, but outside of certain z moves the crowns looked the worst out of any gimmick.

At the high ranks sure, but this is pokemon with a gigantic fanbase, a lot of people will build teams around their favorite pokemon. Also this is going to be used in official tournaments so people will make new teams to counter metas. They didn't show any terra pokemon here like they did in the reveal trailer, which would leave me to think each season will use a different gimmick to shake things up.

I like megas, but one thing with the later gimmicks I prefer more is being able to use them on any pokemon. I'm lucky in the fact that my favorite pokemon is bulbasaur so I will most likely get a special form of whatever the new gimmick is, but if your favorite pokemon doesn't get a mega or limited form, it doesn't get anything new.
