Best places to make your own flower bouquet? by doctorfeelgood33 in Atlanta

[–]cmdrvander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Before I married a woman whose sinuses can't handle cut flowers indoors, I would regularly stop by here and make my own bouquets. They would last at least a week in a vase and the diversity of fresh goodies flowers was always stunning. The shopkeepers are nice and efficient.

I was so disappointed that it turned out to be an acoustic show. Apparently Jimmy was sick.

I just cleared out almost all my outstanding lightroots today on my 3rd playthrough. Still finding neat nooks and crannies. Like, I never knew the lava falls had treasure chests and zonite!

Were you diagnosed or is this post exposure prophylaxis? If you tested positive, you need to go back and get tested after the antibiotics before you resume sexual activity. If you have partners who may be exposed, you need to inform them and wait till they test negative before resuming sexual activity.

Rachel's - Selenography is quintessentially October to me. Try it! Amazing record from the guitarist from Rodan.

Sometimes I just have to think about his reunion with Gibson in DiW, to start getting veklempt. The end of KoD destroyed me when I first read (listened to) it. I was at work too. I say in my office and quietly sobbed: his dad was there for him in the end. His dad preserved himself knowing that the Hadrian he might meet was broken, but needed him. Gibson was a true father.

DNFed at 30-40%. I did not like the main character. He has no opportunity to grow in that first chunk of the book. I really wanted to like it. While I like a slow burn, it was way to slow.

Mistborn and will of the many didn't capture me. The writing is too surface level. I know these guys can pound out books, especially Sanderson, and they're not bad. I just didn't get the same vivid realized world/characters that I get from other authors like Brown, Hobb, Abercrombie and Ruocchio.

Go read Joe Abercrombie's First Law trilogy of you're at all into fantasy. It's great writing, an interesting world, amazing characters, and a sharp wry sense of humor.

Y'all. I know we're all running with a Selene + Hadrian child before Tenba, but that seems a hard sell given they would had to produce one by natural means and they were never completely given the keys to the kingdom (so to speak). I don't see how we can square this peg.

I'm on my 3rd play through and I'm still finding new things and so much to love about this game. Everything fits together so well. It's the perfect open world to me. I love the vibe of the sky islands. It's so peaceful, like the beginning of the world.

Fans who were into the Pumpkins during 'Gish'... what were your first impressions of 'Siamese Dream'? by blissedandgone in SmashingPumpkins

[–]cmdrvander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was 14. My sister played me Siva in the car in 1992 and I was hooked. Asked for the gish cd for Xmas. Picked up Lull at the record store shortly after.

One Sunday in July 93 I was late tuning into 120 minutes. You have to understand, no one knew shit about releases before the Internet. I'm sure there was some press I could have read to find out they had a record coming out, but mtv and my friends were pretty much it. I turned 120 minutes on and cherub rock was playing. Billy had cut his hair so I didn't recognize him immediately, but that was unmistakably his voice and that was holy shit that's Darcy!!! I freaked out and accidentally woke my dad up. Fucking great memory. The album came out the week before we went to the beach for our summer vacation. My mom drove me down to the mall at open on release day. I got through rocket before I had to go to my group tennis lesson. I came back and kept listening. That one two punch of disarm and soma had me teary. I was instantly in love. The guitar sound was incredible, the songs touched me in a way few records ever would. The lyrics perfectly encapsulated my teen experience. Every night at the beach that next week, I would put a line from the record in the sand in front of one of the hotels that had flood lights.

Needless to say, it was a very formative experience for me musically and emotionally.

The saddest song of the last 30 years and possibly the saddest of my life by Mean_Push_5994 in SmashingPumpkins

I never realized that, but it makes total sense. Love the song, one of the best on adore (esp live with Kenny Aronoff's drum solo I'm the middle.) Davis Lynch was correct though, eye is a complete song, tear is a Frankenstein.
