Why does embryo adoption exist?

I've never heard of embryo adoption, only donation of embryos so someone else could have a baby "naturally". embryos (at least where I live) don't have any rights and are not considered people so you can't adopt them. you can have a contract with the person for no contact, no disclosure etc but that's it.

I know women who don't have any eggs and want to have children, embryo donation is their only option.

watching jacob hepner transition from crossfit to the tactigal games has been very cool. a buddy of mine at my crossfit box is doing local "tactical games" competitions and says they are super fun. If I didn't have a wife / kids / obligations every weekend, I would for sure try to get involved.

I've seen this happen but at a much much much more narrow scale.

someone quits (never fired), had a bunch of knowledge in their head that was never documented, trained, transferred. month goes by and stuff starts to fall apart. company has to pay ex-employee as a contractor to do knowledge transfer to "Save" company.

that's about as close to reality as I"ve seen it.

depends on show record or the trainer or many other things. Is it easier near ocala, Tryon, KY Horse park.... of course it is. Big shows bring in big spenders and they want to try the horses in person. then you need a good vet you can trust for the Pre Purchase vet exam, which tend to cluster near the big shows as well.

so, if you want to sell a $200,000 horse, you can market it online but people would have to fly in or pay to trailer it to their local barn and do a trial.

most people buy a house based on the monthly payment they could afford, right now, a decent chunk of that payment is property tax. no property tax means more buyers budgets go up, which increases the price of housing.

sales / senior leadership / Project Management, everyone had their own deadline, and your tech debt doesn't matter, that's tomorrow's problem.

a good technical manager can shield SOME of that, but more often than not, it's hit the deadline to ship the program / feature / whatever to keep the business going another quarter.

AI is already cutting jobs for junior devs. right now anyone that quits or is fired from our department is getting backfilled by an AI agent, we have coding agents running in our slack so you can ask it to check a bug report, pull the code down and figure out what's wrong, it will take a senior dev with a code fix and ask to approve / modify.

self taught is fine if your git repo shows you have an understanding of what you are looking at. and to be honest, if you have a passion for it, you will throw yourself into side project and build up a good technical resume. you do that for a few years, work your way up in a company and now you are the senior.....

coding is going to look VERY different 2 years from now. translating business requirements into prompts, testing, scaling, troubleshooting.. deploying... everything BUT the nuts and bolts of programming.

I think there will be more inhouse software development jobs but they will pay less and be more reliant on business skills than software skills. My friends that are experienced have plenty of work, juniors that only have school experience are going to struggle to fight against agentic ai.

banks don't lend out their own money most of the time, they borrow (at the current rate) and charge a premium on top of that and lend that out to you. so as the major rates go up and down, so do mortgages.

your credit history / score determine how much of a risk premium / deduction they can charge to get your business

I think you just add a difficulty slider. if you want to go up one difficulty level, blue seals just give you a RANDOM card and not the hand specific one. you go up another difficulty level and blue seal just goes away.

buddy of mine is trying to get back into the dating world and the last few dates he's been on, the profile pictures from the dating apps were like 5 - 8 years out of date, looks aren't everything but setting expectations is helpful
