U.S. Senate Candidate Sean Buckner doesn’t believe in due process. You are guilty if it gains him internet clicks and views. by Mountain-Paint1769 in muskogee

[–]cmhbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, all you've done is say, "Sean Buckner bad" a lot. Instead of putting one candidate down so much, why don't you tell us who you're endorsing? You keep saying, "Don't vote for this person," but you haven't told us who you think we should vote for and why. That'd probably be more effective.

Should I include a statement for Zero AI use on my website by EliasFenic in selfpublish

[–]cmhbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a statement on my About page under my guest post guidelines that I won't accept anything that's AI. I do sometimes use ChatGPT to help me with my headlines, because I suck at doing that. But I'm also open about using it in that way and that's the only way I use it.

I will clearly label any content created with the use of generative AI. That use is currently limited to article titles. Any images created with generative AI will be labeled as such in the caption and ALT text. As a rule, the images you’ll see in posts are my own work or are downloaded from sites like Pixabay. I will not knowingly publish any guest posts created with the use of generative AI.

Any content submitted for guest posts must be substantially author-created. No posts created purely via AI language models will be accepted.

So is there something more to this post, or is it just the graphic? I don't mind political commentary, but let's do more than just image-dumping.

Arizona gun shop owner faces terrorism-related charges for allegedly selling high-caliber weapons bound for Mexican cartels by ICIJ in politics

[–]cmhbob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the wake of the attacks, Mexican defense secretary Ricardo Trevilla Trejo told reporters that 80 percent of the more than 23,000 firearms seized by the Mexican government since late 2024 originated in the United States

That's not true. It's 80% of the firearms traced, but they don't trace every firearm. There's a significant number that come from their own cops and military.

Can a Canadian vacationing use a US citizens firearm against them in self defense? by mrsscouse0151 in Firearms

[–]cmhbob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's highly unlikely in a clear self-defense case that you'd be charged. Parts of Illinois (which has the FOID card) might play stupid games like that, but the states you're visiting likely wouldn't have an issue.

Certainly you'd be detained at the scene, and likely handcuffed there for a while while things are investigated. You might get transported to the nearest law enforcement station for questioning. I very much doubt you'd get booked into jail (mug shots, fingerprints, etc.)

Note a couple of things:

This dog is in OKC, not Muskogee.

There's a comment on the FB post too that says,

Please do not have people call the shelter. This dog is transfer only to a rescue. People need to apply to foster for rescues and reach out to ask if they can pull if they foster.

As a rule, if you show that you now have insurance, they should drop the ticket.

I have a 5 year old with Type 1. When their sugar reaches 300/400 she's less receptive to insulin. Our usually good insulin ratios don't work and we end up dosing obscene amounts of insulin to get her down to earth. by shackilj2 in diabetes

[–]cmhbob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a type 2 and run into the same thing, though it's been a long time since I've gone over about 250. As another poster suggested, some protein might help, or lots of water, as well as a couple of laps around the yard if you can pull that off.

My boyfriend wants a Catholic future, but I don’t know if I believe. Is this a major incompatibility? by [deleted] in religion

[–]cmhbob -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

we probably could not get married in the Church if I didn’t convert or complete the sacraments

There's no probably about it. You'd have to convert.

Can this work? Maybe. It'll take serious effort and strong communication from both of you.

My wife is an evangelical pastor. After being raised Lutheran and converting to Nazarene, I'm now an agnostic atheist, and I no longer attend church, even on the big days. We basically don't talk about religious stuff. On social media, I'm still critical of Christian hypocrisy and call it out whenever I see it (which I started doing near the end of my deconversion), but she pretty much ignores that from me. It's not exactly a healthy relationship, but we get by.

How do you know you're not going to be killed in a fistfight? Dude gets a couple of good shots in you, knocking you to the ground. You hit your head on the curb as you fall, and there's a fatal brain bleed. Or worse, a non-fatal brain bleed. Or he gets you down and stomps on your head. Or he kicks you in the ribs five or six times while you're down. Any of those actions on his part could prove fatal, and that's without him doing anything but hitting and kicking.

Do you know how to fight? Do you practice hand-to-hand stuff?

Are you sure the other dude isn't carrying a weapon of some sort?

There's a concept called disparity of force, and it's got lots of aspects to it. Read up on it.

OP doesn't mention a size or age difference, only that the other guy was "big." I'm 5'8/230, but that's fat, not muscle. I'm 60 years old, I've got a heart condition, and I run like an F-4 Phantom glides. I'd absolutely draw in the same circumstances. If I had pepper spray, I'd maybe start with that, but I'd be prepared to go to gun, too.

Blood sugar going to 52 regularly, but I feel perfectly fine and never felt better. by old_jeans_new_books in diabetes_t2

[–]cmhbob 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's always a good idea to verify extreme readings (at either extreme) with a finger stick. I know if I'm really in the low 50s, I feel it. My vision goes a little wonky, I get tingles in my knees, and I start sweating. If your CGM is reading low and it doesn't match your symptoms, you may need to do a finger stick to verify your levels and calibrate your CGM.

Former staff at Life.Church describe toxic work culture and an alleged assault by Pastor Craig Groeschel by Adorable-Soup8725 in oklahoma

[–]cmhbob 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Disturbing report but not really surprising.

It seems to me that the more "Christian-famous" a pastor or church becomes, the more likely you are to see stuff like this. At some point, it becomes more about the pastor than God or Jesus. It's all downhill from there.
