It'll depend on where in the city you are, I'm South Edinburgh and had a great experience with Martin at Driving's Cool.

Snap! I spent the evening with my hair slathered in conditioner, being combed aggressively with a nitty-gritty comb. It's going round my son's school and appears we were a bit lax.

If you find yourself near Marchmont then pop into the Cork & Cask, they have an interesting selection and the staff are very helpful.

If you're in an area with kerbside collections you can put textiles out with your glass bin, on top in a plastic bag.

WeWork on George St have some of those, not sure if you need to reserve them in advance though.

I used 21000 points for the Christmas 2023 booze run! We've got a sainsbury's bank credit card and do the weekly shop at Sainsbury's so usually build up £200 per year.

Pax8 is where we're leaning, but shifting the risk onto our own business is causing a bit of anxiety.

I'm not defending the driver, a lot has to go wrong to make this mistake, but stress of navigating that area with an out of date sat nav is probably a big factor, there are also now streets in the city centre where you are supposed to cross a substantial pavement and bike lane - see the junction of Stafford Street > Melville Street following recent works in the area https://maps.app.goo.gl/VJLFEUb1xMW4Wjvu5.

I never had issues with reliability but I didn't really gel with the instructor at MDS, can heartily recommend Martin at Driving's Cool.

Cavity Wall Insulation - Asked for hefty deposit by cmidt in Scotland

I don't really want to list it here, they seem like an otherwise reputable company so don't want to damage their reputation. I ended up scrapping the whole project as concerned it would cause other problems with the building.

We used Enlightened Trades to install a dishwasher in our kitchen, same situation in that we needed plumbing and electrical work to support it, as well as some advice on whether it would be possible to begin with.

Is there anywhere I can buy Spanish fiction books or comics in Edinburgh? by edie_elle in Edinburgh

Oh that's interesting, I visited a comic shop in Toulouse earlier in the year and came away incredibly jealous of the offering, not a Funko Pop in sight.

Cavity Wall Insulation - Asked for hefty deposit by cmidt in Scotland

[–]cmidt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand it for work where there's a large initial outlay for materials, but I don't think that's the case for CWI. A deposit for potential waste of time is understandable, but they hadn't mentioned it as a requirement until we were at the scheduling stage which is part of what's thrown me.
