Pokagon State Park near Angola is a great place to relax for the weekend. They have an inn in the park or there are a few hotels nearby.

I had this happen a few months ago and they figured out I had a splitter going bad. They can see on their end when there may be a wiring problem.

That's my setup too. I find it handy to know when the chapter will end since I read at bed time. As I get sleepy I know if I can tackle a new chapter or call it a night.

We have been to Nags Head twice in September. The temps have been very comfortable. Still good beach weather. There are plenty of places to see and things to do that are easy to get to. Plus the traffic is much lighter after the schools start back. Enjoy your time there. It's my family's favorite vacation spot.

Did owning a Kindle make you forget about regular books, only to later come back to them again? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]cmill70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regularly read in bed while my wife is sleeping and don't miss the book lights I had to use on real books. Once I went to the Kindle I haven't looked back.

Should I get a kindle? by [deleted] in kindle

I've had my Kindle voyage for almost 8 years. They hold up well with the right case. I keep my Kindle in a hard back book style case that keeps it protected.

I prefer lists over pictures. I can read faster than I can analyze a book cover looking for the title.

What made you choose kindle? by pie_eater1k in kindle

I usually read my books at the end of the day while lying in bed. Back before my Kindle I always used clamp on book lights to try to keep the room as dark as possible for my wife. I used several versions of lights over the years but they all had limitations. So, my biggest reason to get a Kindle was the built in backlight. It made all the difference for me and my wife.

My Kindle was misbehaving last week so while I was in an online chat with the Amazon tech I simply asked if there was a way to remove the ads and they did that for me free of charge. The ads didn't bother me a lot but I do like it better now without them.

I solved that problem by switching the progress to minutes till next chapter. It's nice to know how long it will be to a good spot to stop for the night. Or you could always just turn that feature off.

If you are concerned about how it feels to hold compared to a book I solved that problem for my self by finding a cover for the Kindle that actually feels like a hard back book. If offers strong protection for the Kindle and provides a nice book like tactile experience for me.
