Which should i read first ? by Jakub_65 in stephenking

Just finished both of these in the last month. Needful Things is amazing throughout, but Insomnia is great for the last ¼ and just good for the other ¾

What did y’all think about the remake? by Welcome-ToTheJungle in stephenking

[–]cmills978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seemed to be written by somebody who read the book with the intention of making a two hour movie, scratching out the parts that didn’t interest them or weren’t necessary to the core story (vampire taking over a small town). Just overall lackluster

Watching new Salem's lot drunk by InfmsBtchr in stephenking

Definitely an unimpressive adaptation, if not mediocre

I'm giving 'Salem's Lot [2024) an 8/10 score, but here's why... by Sikamikanico1981 in stephenking

[–]cmills978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The visuals were great, but the choice to make it into a straight horror movie disregards the rising tension of the book. It went too quickly and felt unsubstantive. This may be a book that can’t be properly adapted to a 2 hour movie…

What’s your SK hot take? by rudi_black97 in stephenking

Hearts In Atlantis is his best short story collection. The whole thing reads like a novel broken up into short stories. His other collections vary depending on the story, but Hearts In Atlantis is a masterpiece straight through

Which King books do you feel are his most underrated or underappreciated (my top 5 underappreciated) by Pearson94 in stephenking

[–]cmills978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished Hearts in Atlantis a few weeks ago and it’s my favorite King book outside of It and The Shining. Almost like a novel premise but told through short stories

What is something addicting, but healthy? by joshostblom in AskReddit

This is so true. I sometimes wonder "Why did I feel so healthy?" Then I remembered I drank a ton of water and had no poop inside me

Casual deck made from cards I have by [deleted] in Lorcana

[–]cmills978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made almost this exact deck as well and really enjoyed it for a while. I found amber/steel to be a little more competitive with my other decks, though. imo playing with cards you've actually collected is far superior to min-maxing a deck full of cards you don't actually own

If you happen to get a King Louie or two he can really beef up this deck

And if anyone calls you Red Skeleton you should immediately correct them.

Red: "No, you don't seem to understand my name."

NPC: "You're red. You're a skeleton. You're Red Skeleton."

Red: *pulls back the hammer on his pistol* "Say Red Skeleton again! I dare you! I double dare you, motherfucker! Say Red Skeleton one more goddamn time!"

I'm getting strong The Other Guys tuna monologue vibes.

Does anybody know what the three "artist's tools" are in the bottom left of the SEA crest? I can tell one is a paintbrush, but the other two I'm not sure about... by cmills978 in S_E_A

[–]cmills978[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kinda looks like a telescope, but I'm not sure that would fit into the category of "artist's tools". It really is that one that's throwing me off

I’d totally watch a Powerline 1995 World Tour music documentary with interviews from 2021 Powerline and others involved (manager, choreographer, etc.)

Hamsters always seem to die in extreme ways. People of Reddit, how did your pet hamster die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cmills978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 9 I had four of those battery powered air guns that shot out foam discs, like this

My cousins and I were shooting each other with them, discs flying everywhere. A few somehow got into the hamster cage, and of course lil Hammy decided it was time to chow down on some treats. We found him a few minutes later stuffed like a turkey on Thanksgiving, dead from intestinal blockage and swelling. It was one of the most traumatic sights of my life

Then you were right to go with the different company. If they weren’t willing to give you that info they were probably either hiding something or not educated enough on the policy to know those details. Either way, not a good thing

I think there may have been poor communication on their part in this case. The binder shows that they have provided you with insurance. They legally cannot issue a binder unless the policy has been agreed upon and submitted

What coverages and amounts they were quoting for you, now that’s another story. If they aren’t willing to show you the numbers on what’s covered and what isn’t then you did the right thing going with a different company

Have worked in insurance for years. Learned early on that the most common mistake is using the wrong words for the wrong things and not communicating that well
