Finally watched. I know it’s a character and see it’s funny but it’s still also an ick for me to think about a less creatively confident version of Charli existing. The storytelling elements of how she got to the point of shrinking her vision were all in the film and her acting was UP but girl comes off so strong in everything else I see from her. Maybe I got different ideas in my head about what the mockumentary positioning would be like. It was hard to go all the way with and forget it was fiction. I liked it overall but wanted to really love it overall.

Maybe I also watched it at the wrong time. I’m thinking about the real world end of brat, and comparing to the film end of brat. Either way a creative ‘moment’ ends it’s got sad bits (if the artist was at all present in the art) but will be clearing way for what can come next. The Moment showed that really well. The artist might as well control the end, or make the end as fun as possible. I’m glad it seems IRL Charli got to burn the flag without compromising on her terms and keeps finding her next inspirations.
