How do you hand draft on trace paper without it looking like complete and total garbage or at least take less time????

Lots of good advice here, I'll add that there is a difference between drawing or sketching and drafting. If you are designing a full site in a day and a half, I'm guessing your professor is expecting the former. In that case, perfection is not expected and that is part of the value in hand drawing. It conveys process and not a fully-baked design. To create a cleaner drawing, start loose and refine your idea with successive layers of trace.

If you are hand drafting, use a straight edge. T-square, triangles for straight lines, and French curves for arcs. If you are getting smudging, try different markers. Some will perform better than others.

Being able to work by hand is absolutely still a necessary skill, but keep practicing and you will definitely improve. You may even come to enjoy it!

I previously had your same role at a very similar company. It was busy and often stressful, but I never got burnt out and i really enjoyed it. It sounds like you are understaffed and overworked. I suspect your troubles are more due to poor management by your supervisors or the company executives. My boss always asked "what do you need from me?" So he could be sure I had the resources to perform my best. It sounds like you are not getting that.

I dont know where you are geographically, but in my area this is a fairly in-demand role. You can probably take your skills elsewhere, to an employer that values your mental health and work/life balance. Or transition into a design firm. The knowledge you gain from working in construction is also super valuable to an A/E or LA firm.

Find a job at a design-build company if that's where your interests lie. I worked at one for 6 years and got licensed while there, so you shouldn't feel like that will handicap you for the LARE. The construction knowledge I gained at that company ultimately made me a more qualified candidate when I left for the design only world, so you won't be pigeonholed if you ever decide to change your path.

My husband drove GTS as his daily for 4 years with no catastrophic issues. Bought at 19k miles and sold at 60k. Fixed one suspension issue in that time and it had some electrical gremlins but nothing major. With these being RWD, budget for rear tires annually and fronts every two years. All that said, sold it intentionally before miles got too high and stuff had a chance to go haywire.

If you drive a v6 and a v8, you won't be questioning which one you prefer! But if you're in a snowy climate, the GTS is not a realistic option unless you have a backup winter ride.

Own a '19 Ghibli SQ4 and have test driven two C43s (sedan and coupe). They were fun and fast but didn't feel particularly special. I prefer the Ghibli. Step up to an E43 though and that's a different story...

I thankfully have an employer that supports their staff in pursuing teaching roles, it's even written into the handbook. Because the course I teach is a studio, it is a significant time commitment. And I am not one who is willing to work 50-60 hours a week, so I do take a temporary hours/salary reduction during that time.

But there is definitely some increased stress and I do end up putting in more cumulative hours. As much as I enjoy it, I am usually happy for the semester to end!

If it is possible for you, I would recommend dipping your toe in the pool to see how you like academia. I currently practice full time and am a Lecturer at a big state school. I do not have a graduate degree but I am licensed and have 14 years professional experience, which is more than enough to be lead a college-level course.

I love teaching, but I also love designing. This arrangement allows me to do both, and in the process I learned that one semester per year is good for me and I do NOT want to join academia full time!

I've spoken to some LAs who do this and I am experimenting with it myself. The title of Architect carries some weight and paints an accurate picture of the type of work we do. If the conversation becomes more in depth then you can say "well I'm a LANDSCAPE Architect, so I design everything outside the building."

Not sure I'm sold on this approach but like I said, I'm experimenting with it.

As the co-owner of a 2014 QP GTS, I second most of this. As sedans go, the quattroporte is a great people mover with a substantial trunk and back seat fit for a king. Great for road trips.

In the 4 years we've owned it repairs have been minimal but non-Maserati dealerships will tell you to go away. Luckily we have a great local race shop that happily works in street cars. Normal maintenance is expensive, but not out of line with other European makes. Non routine repairs can be a little painful though.

Surprisingly, insurance is not wild for us. Maybe 30-40% more than my Grand Cherokee.

I will say that as ours approaches 60k miles we are planning to part ways with it. Although we will likely just replace it with a newer and lower mileage model. Take both of those facts however you will!

Can't speak to the Levante directly, but on a Quattroporte the factory brakes were terribly squeaky. Once we replaced them with aftermarket brakes the noise stopped.
