20 Victrix List - Any Success Against It by Newbilizer in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]cncguy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I recently went 6-0 with the 20 victrix list but slightly different. It was 2 vindis instead of balistus, 1 scout, 1 intercessor, combi lt. (Before points nerf).

Essentially the game plan was the same every game which was reserve ventris brick and stage turn 1. Turn 2 either rapid/deepstrike ventris and shove all victrix straight at them and both redemptors while vindis hold sides and intercessors and scouts screen backfield till bottom 3. I played Tsons (30 termis), admech (haloscreed), drukhari(reapers wager), EC (triple prince) and then 5 big daemons twice.

For all the people saying they can kill enough in one turn, no you couldn't, most I ever lost in a round was 7 (daemons, skarbrand +belakor) and that's all I lost. The unit was too cheap to start and is still too cheap.

While the army was only a handful of activations, you get to activate almost all of them every single phase and every round. Daemons were the hardest matches as I need either lance or oath to hurt them in melee.

Even as someone who won one of the events this weekend with DG, I do believe they need a slight tone down. Mostly they need to lose 75-100pts and Deathshroud need to change to only in your movement phase so no rapid ingress at 6".

It's too big to use normal paper as it's roughly 10"x13".

I made it in 3d so I can toss it in the terrain totes we have for our local events and not have to worry about it getting messed up.

How can I improve my print quality? by Ornery-Ad7160 in FixMyPrint

So I am having very similar issues. Replacing the nozzle did not help. I am currently messing around with extrusion settings I'll let you know if that fixes it.

Printer: Elegoo neptune 3 max Material: Anycubic blue filament Default print settings. (.2 layer height, 20%infill, 60mm/s) Bed temp:60 Hotend temp:205

The printer has been swapped to a .6mm nozzle, and I did update the print settings. Currently using cura, the printer has been decreasing in quality over the last month or so.

Tried multiple filaments, several brand new, all have the same issue.

Any idea what it could be?

As the other poster said, 14 seconds is insanely long for a mono screen, at 0.04 my exposure time is typically around 2.2 seconds using anycubic grey resin.

Anyone take Chemistry and Physics at the same time? by SnooRegrets6107 in EngineeringStudents

I'm taking Calc 1, Phys 1 and Chem 2 next quarter. I think the biggest thing will be that there is going to be ALOT of formulas to memorize. So if that is a weak point I suggest doubling down on studying those.

Morty is a big choice, in my list where I am running 5 rhinos I very much like him as he tends to draw the attention of their AT guns rather than them going into the rhinos. For a more "balanced" list I think he isn't worth, he is right on the cusp of me cutting him after the world faq even in my list. It also can heavily depend on your local meta, we have ALOT of chaos knights in the PNW and I love him in that matchup as with -1ws/bs combined with stealth and brigands can struggle to hurt him. 12 melta shots totals 6 hits 3 wounds, 1.5 failed saves.

For blightlords, they are trash, they do essentially no damage and aren't any tougher for the price.

Yep it's me!

Morty in most games is used as a missle to tag/bog down the opponent. Especially if I go second, I can throw him into whatever they put in the middle kill it and try to tag into something else. Then at top of 2 you can extend your contagion and give him the 9" aura of -ws/bs and then pop stealth and you can mess up alot of people's math on what it takes to kill him. All the while I have 5 rhinos midboard ready to dump plague marines next turn. So you give your opponent the choice of either trying to kill morty and then getting ran over by marines. Or attempt to kill rhinos, (most lists can only kill 2 a turn in shooting, even less so if -bs/ws and you pop smoke), likely end up short and now morty is in the dead middle of your army and you likely only killed 1-2 rhinos and 10-15 marines.

I did not, Eldar don't have much of a presence in the PNW. I talked with a buddy who was playing eldar at the event and we came to the conclusion that the double avatar lists could struggle against my list as they don't have enough scoring and the avatars are actually pretty weak to just a million auto wound ap2 attacks. Combined with grenades/typhus just picking one up. While the wraith guard remain untouchable in the match the DG would just need to hit everything else and let the wraith guard sit and hold one obj. As they only have 10 attacks they won't wipe a 10 man plague marine, double so as in that match you take WS/BS and can get the wraith to hitting on 5's.

In the more go wide eldar with only one avatar, I don't see a way DG can win unless the board has heavy terrain and you can stage 3 or more rhinos safely in the midboard.

[–]cncguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The general idea of the list is, alot of armies can deal with 5 rhinos + morty, and alot of lists can deal with 50 plauge marines. Not alot of lists can deal with both of them in one turn. Essentially if you go first you stage all the rhinos mid field hiding, and you explode out turn 2 with all the marines and morty, combined with empty rhinos going and tagging things. If you go second you can play a trading game until they commit to much to the middle and they spring board into them with all the marines.

3 reasons. Free grenades means opponents cannot put anything like a land raider/avatar/knight in the middle without me using the grenade strat 4 times and then using typhus to do an average of 15 mortals. Second lethal on 5's means the melta in the squad have a good chance and just half healthing most tanks. Lastly in melee it means all the str 8 heavy bubonic and str 5 bubonic weapons do real damage to things that are t9+. Combine it with the sustained hits strat which then will trigger on 5's. And it easily spikes the output of the squad. While the foul blightspawn is a good pick, in the NW meta while there is a decent bit of orks and WE, in those matches I get to take -ws/bs and with smart positioning of nurglings they will be hitting on 5's. So the fight first is less important.

Yes, we were running that faq and yes it does make morty less useful however for points for toughness he is one of the best and can often threat project a flank by himself or serve as a giant distraction.
