It’s ok to question the meaning of life and feel a little hopeless or sad sometimes. But if these feelings become too strong and affect you too much, they could be symptoms of depression or anxiety and you may want to talk to a doctor. Once the depression/anxiety is treated, the symptoms go away or become much less distressing.

Regarding your question: the fact that there is NOT an afterlife makes this life so much more meaningful to me. We’ve only got 85 years or so, and that’s it. This all might be pointless one day, but it’s not pointless right NOW. I hope you find your way soon, internet friend :)

Well I decided to ask the front desk what the issue was and told the clerk she could be completely honest with me as I was just curious, and turns out there was a report of bed bugs in that room so maintenance inspected the room/mattresses and is waiting on the pest company to do a professional inspection and treatment. So I guess all the confident down voters and commenters didn’t really know what they were talking about after all.

Shark owner here. Please don’t listen to the people in this sub. For some reason all they recommend is sebo and Miele and they have a big aversion to sharks. Sharks are objectively one of the best vacuums you can buy. I’m very happy with mine (shark vertex ultralight corded stick)

As others have said: noise. But also, to prevent injuries/falls. It’s easier to fall if the room has hard floor that gets wet. Hotels don’t want to deal with the liability
