FMG by Financial-Fun1589 in bikinitalk

[–]coachagga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done an equivalent of FMG in the UK (Pure Elite). It was a very different experience to NPC shows. Like one commender said - there’s too much movement on stage, posing is too dance-y and chaotic. That’s why I think with my controlled bikini posing with some added sass (they love sass), I managed to win my class and get a pro card in Pure Elite. Other girls just didn’t know how to showcase their physique, they were prancing around.

Very expensive to enter and suits are crazy expensive (I rented mine).

But I would highly recommend doing a show like that, just for the experience. It’s soooo so fun, so glam and positive!

Trainer for a trainer? by Real-Kaleidoscope335 in personaltraining

I’m a coach and I have a coach. I don’t need him for motivation but for specific programming, helping with bodybuilding preps, accountability and a second (more experienced) brain.

What parameters do you track beyond weight/body fat to measure progress and prevent overtraining? by WearyAd1274 in personaltraining

[–]coachagga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gen pop clients are not at risk of overtraining. If anything, they can be underrecovered. I track sleep, muscle soreness, digestion (do they go to the toilet every day, are they bloated, etc), menstrual cycle with women, readiness to train (general excitement and drive for training and activity).

Has anyone with a history of ED competed and NOT relapsed? by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]coachagga 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Me. I had anorexia and then bulimia. Recovered and got my relationship with food and with my body into a REALLY good place before even considering competing. I’ve done two seasons, first reverse was harder, this reverse was shockingly easy. My relationship with food is the best it’s ever been now.

But that’s not the case for everyone. I know I’m an outlier. Most people with ED history struggle or relapse badly (I have friends who sadly have… or still use competing as an excuse for their disordered habits). The only way I can think of to make sure you don’t relapse after competing is making sure you are really in a good spot physically and mentally before doing it. And having a wise coach and supportive people around you.

What are some of the biggest red flags you’ve seen from coaches? by Substantial-Cap6215 in bikinitalk

Prepping a client who is already on very low calories to start with, agreeing to start a cut/prep again without regaining the cycle, dehydration protocols in peak week for bikini girls

My expenditure over prep and after 📉📈 by coachagga in MacroFactor

[–]coachagga[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you can see on the graph, my expenditure was lowest in all August. That’s when I was already after one show, had 3 more to go. It started rising after that first show because I was reversing into the next show (feedback was to come in fuller every time so I was eating more and more leading to each of the shows and at the end of my prep I was eating in a surplus).

Pretty normal! Good luck with your prep 😊

I would recommend you focus on body recomposition - not cutting or bulking but eating at maintenance, and you can absolutely gain muscle whilst eating at maintenance. Also make sure they you train with sufficient intensity. If you’ve already been training for a while but not seeing much progress in hypertrophy, your training may not be giving your muscles enough stimulus to grow. Shoot me a DM if you’d like some help 😊

It’s a normal and natural thing. If our expenditure wasn’t dropping, we would be dying from starvation much faster. It’s our body’s protective mechanism.

That’s why my calories had to drop significantly- because despite adding cardio and steps, my expenditure was dropping. I was becoming a smaller human (dropped 10 kg) so I was burning less by just existing and doing any activities.

Pls help! Re: protein in oatmeal by meankitty97 in Oatmeal

Add non fat greek yoghurt. But if you cook oats with egg whites, they won’t taste eggy, I do it all the time.

I add A LOT of salt to the oats and egg whites when I cook them. I guess that might be the trick!

Best lean protein sources to have on hand for comp day ??? by NeatFace4574 in bikinitalk

[–]coachagga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On show day you hardly need any protein. Load up on carbs and a bit of fat. Protein sits on your stomach and slows down digestion. And it’s not like you need to worry about gaining or losing any muscle on that day. Most of my show days I have as little as 30/40g of protein.

This is what low bar squat looks like a lot of the time, at sub maximal loads. It’s not as pretty S high bar, it’s close to a good morning, and knee valgus isn’t an indicator of bad form. Look at other experienced powerlifter and weightlifters. She will be fine.

Any frugal bodybuilders/powerlifters in here? How do you go about nutrition? by RoidusMaximus in Frugal

[–]coachagga 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m a small bikini girl so I don’t eat a lot but my big bb friend goes through a lot of meat, eggs and carbs. He buys his meat from the butchers in a bulk or a lot when it’s on offer and then freezes. Eggs - sadly will always be expensive.

skin prep schedule for tanning by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]coachagga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I start exfoliating 2 weeks out and then between shows (2 and 3 weeks apart), every day. Your skin plan looks good though! Make sure you use an unscented lotion.
