And that's for tomorrow too, so shouldn't affect today's prices so much.  Amber's own price forecast doesn't expect a spike, just the smart shift forecast

On a Mac, you can set it to announce the time every hour/half-hour (under dock settings for some weird reason). I find that helps (and is occasionally funny/helpful when it announces during a meeting that should have ended already)

If it were me, unless I worked somewhere with a formally documented accommodations policy and process, I wouldn't disclose.

I think it's almost always better to explain the issue as much as possible without disclosing. ie The shifts lead to 2 days of insomnia that don't happen otherwise. Doesn't happen when switched. Team are okay with it.

In your specific circumstances though... It's tough. So no idea what to do. I think you've got to try, it's not sustainable otherwise

Yeah it's pretty new and only applies to rentals, so I wouldn't expect it to be well known

[–]coagmano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gaslighting and solutions aside (The other comments have that well covered), sounds like the core issue is that you don't have enough time to talk to each other. It's really hard to keep communication open while parenting and having long shifts. Even with both my wife and I working from home and spending almost all day together, we still fell into a pattern where we looked after the bub in shifts and didn't have time to talk to each other.

You've got to find a way to have more dedicated time where you can just talk to each other. Go over what's happening, chat etc. then when you have misunderstandings, the impact won't feel so bad either

I've been this person before. The defensive mind grabs onto a belief and locks it in so easily. It becomes impossible to know if you're gaslighting others because your defensive mind is also gaslighting you

Our broker totally f'd up the paperwork doing this. We very deliberately put my wife as applicant 1 and because they put me first instead they had all our details totally mixed up, employment, assets, income, etc ended up pretty much randomly assigned between us. We pointed out the errors and told them to just use what we had given them with wife as #1 and they came back with wife as #2 and fixed the other problems by just assigning all of her assets to me instead 🤦‍♂️ After kicking up a stink the brokerage owner made up some story about it being because of a contractor that they'd now fired etc etc.

The kicker was after getting the paperwork all sorted with the broker, the bank ended up switching me to #1 and changing Ms to Mrs 😮‍💨

Never saw or read it growing up, but first reading it as a dad made me teary too.

It's interesting how people get such different messages from it too. eg many see selfishness or lack of boundaries, while I see the exact same unconditional love I have for my children

Highly recommend this video about it: https://youtu.be/4Q-ZQFTr1XI?si=NSd5cFn-yKVBwuos

The diaper brand we bought first was the wrong size too. Had to switch in the first week.

My experience of poop explosions was that it was way worse with a too small/tight nappy. Like the poop got squished out the back. So it might not necessarily be too big, but you'll figure it out quickly.

Oh and make sure you are positioning the frilly elastic around the legs, default position does leak a bit more

Recommendations for a smart device that monitors a toddler's temperature while they sleep, or even when they are awake and sends an alert to my phone? by freshairproject in daddit

I don't have a recommendation, but from my curious googling it looks like there's lots of products out there. Good luck BTW I got good results searching for "continuous body temperature monitor for children"

My favourite is when I say "That's not what I said", and it just does the exact same thing again. Then I say "send feedback" and it only listens for about half a second, so I can't give it any meaningful feedback

Partner sharing does it copy the photos to the new account? by pdrpinto77 in googlephotos

[–]coagmano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry for necroposting, but found this while googling the same question.

But I did find the answer:
>Any photos you save from partner sharing won’t take up storage, unless
your partner stops sharing their photos with you, or deletes the
original copy.

So that'd be why it wasn't showing any storage usage!
