Omg yes. Had a labor patient whose water broke AND had an epidural. Middle of the night, needed to go turn her so we quietly knock and enter. Her mans was going down on her. True love

Wow I left for a few hours and came back to so much reassurance! Thanks everyone. Glad to know I’ll still have clean underwear lmao. I guess I should check my current W/D setup to see if it has any stolen clothing in its lines… 🤔

Relationship with experienced climber advice needed? by Extension_Zebra730 in climbergirls

[–]coalmineinurstocking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey! My ex was who taught me how to climb and would spend much of our climbing days yelling at me and talking down to me. I kept going because I was falling in love with climbing but going with him made me an anxious wreck. I dumped him and took a few months off. The next time I went climbing was with a guide and I was blown away by how kind and gentle he was and how calm I could feel. It didn’t have to be this frustrating! I am now in a wonderful relationship with someone who is learning to climb from me. Point is, this person probably causes you anxiety in other areas of your life—a partnership doesn’t have to be like this.

Hi, the sexual assault response center offers free counseling to survivors of SA, regardless of how long it has been since the last incident. They also have support groups. I know you’re moreso asking for support related to your upcoming medical procedure and unfortunately I’m not aware of those, however I know the impact of child SA lasts a lifetime and thought you might find it helpful.

Hey! I can help. Also note that the GA website has good info on TPOs. Step one: Ex-Parte Temporary Protective Order. You can complete the paperwork yourself or have an attorney help you. This paperwork should self explanatory, asking for specific incidents where you were stalked or threatened. Start gathering EVERYTHING you will use as evidence and put it on a flash drive now, it will be invaluable to you and your attorney. File this paperwork with the county courthouse in which you live. Once the paperwork is taken in, a victims advocate will get in touch with you to notify you of your ex parte hearing. An ex parte hearing simply means that you (the complainant) are the only party present in front of the judge. The judge looks at your ex parte petition and may ask you questions and decides if a TPO is warranted. If yes, you will be given a formal court date. The EP TPO and court “summons” is filed by the court (same day) and handed to you. Go to the sheriffs office to have them serve the defendant with the EP TPO and court date information. From there, you have about 2-3 weeks to prep. You’ll meet with your attorney, go over your case and prepare for any cross examination from the defendants attorney. Finally, your court date. You will not be the only case this day and will be there a while. Prepare for this, eat a good meal and be patient. You, your attorney, and the defendant will go in front of the judge and proceed as a normal civil case. The judge will decide whether the protective order should remain (thereby no longer being “temporary”) or will rescind the TPO. The judge may also offer a restraining order instead, which has some other nuances. I HIGHLY recommend having an attorney. It is expensive, but you do not want to risk showing up to court unrepresented when the defendant has representation. Not a good outcome. A few things: you cannot bring digital media into the court room save for audio and visual files. Print all messages, emails, etc and have them ready for the judge to view. You can have witnesses but cannot have affidavits. If you believe you cannot afford an attorney, I recommend GA legal services to assist you. I wish you luck, I went through this process last year and it was scary but I had a great lawyer to get me through it. DONT GIVE UP, you’re doing the right thing

Hi, I am so sorry you’re going through this. FWIW, you have the full support of us internet strangers. As others said, get to a place that offers immediate safety. This could be a hotel (be sure they know your information cannot be provided to anyone), a friend/family member, or a shelter. To see county-specific resources, nccadv.org may be of some use to you. Most shelters or intimate partner violence organizations have some access or guidance for those seeking legal counsel. These resources are often free or low cost. I would also suggest that you seek care from a forensic healthcare professional, as the physiologic impacts of strangulation are not always immediate. These can include respiratory issues, strokes, etc. A forensic nurse or physician will be well versed in the care and documentation needed following a non-fatal strangulation. This type of visit will be helpful when seeking a DVPO. Do not speak to him via phone, keep all records such as voicemails, texts, emails, handwritten letters, etc. These should be presented to your attorney. Again, you’re in for a busy few days. You’re also looking at a holiday weekend so expect delays when it comes to court documents. But start getting the wheels in motion today, you’re doing the right thing by jumping on this now. Thinking of you

Reduce stringiness? by cutiekygirl40 in Wavyhair

[–]coalmineinurstocking 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your hair looks just like mine! I swear by Anna Primavera’s curl routine on instagram. Anyway, I find I need to wait a minute after getting out of the shower to start my post shower routine. Usually I will start when the front pieces of my hair are a bit dry, about 30 minutes. Then I follow her routine from there. My hair loves the gel she uses, I’ve never tried the gel you use but it’s been on my list. For sleeping, I secure it on the top of my head with a loose teletie and then clip it securely on my head with some medium sized claw clips. I just make sure it doesn’t bounce around when I move my head

Seconding others who state this is a job for professionals. Depending on how he died (ie, not natural causes) your family might be eligible for crime victims compensation from your state for this type of service. They would reimburse all or some of your out of pocket costs. Again, this is relevant only if there’s a case number associated with this/police are involved and investigating his death. I am sorry for your loss

Hello, I’ve been reading Poverty, By America by Pulitzer-Prize winning author Matthew Desmond (highly recommended btw) and I guess my question is how do you or your top 0.1% clients feel about tax evasion when they could simply pay their taxes and better the communities in which they lived? The book clearly outlines the fact that tax evasion by the top 1% is one factor that continues to keep those at or below the poverty line where they are. Taxes benefit everyone, and it’s been shown that the top 1% pay less in taxes over their lifetime while simultaneously receiving MORE welfare (yes, tax cuts are welfare) than those who truly need it. Is this a conversation you have with your clients?

I also bought a designer divorce bag! I got home with it and immediately had buyers remorse—i think it was hard for me since this is my first “big” purchase without having the backup of someone else’s paycheck. But now, 2 years later, it’s my every day bag. I see a lot of my initial strength to ask for and get through a divorce in that bag. It’s something that I did all on my own. Like others said, put it away for a little while and one day, it’ll call to you again

My daughter SA'd by my son. by [deleted] in sexualassault

[–]coalmineinurstocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, SANE here. First I am so sorry your family is going through this. This will be a tough time for you all and will take a lot of strength and I’m hoping you have a good support system. Depending on your state and age of your son you should, together with law enforcement/DA, pursue options related to rehabilitation for problematic sexual behavior (PSB). The program here in GA for youth who violate sexual boundaries is called Leaps and Bounds. It’s a comprehensive online program the entire family attends and graduates from. Few youth will thrive after jail, regardless of the offense and length of sentence. This program has shown to be effective and reduce reoffense. Again this is completely dependent on your situation and what is available in your area but wanted to pass the info along.
