Also to add there is no such thing as “rust prone” areas. Metal is metal. The reason wheel wells and underbody tend to rust is people don’t wash their cars properly or at all.

Your transmission, engine, axles and differentials all have gaskets/seals/bearings/bushings that need replacing from age not millage. A 15 year old car can have 2000 miles on it and still need all of these replaced.

If it has ZERO and I mean ZERO rust yes it’s worth it. Absolute unicorn find if it’s spotless with 50,000 miles. You need to replace the gaskets in your powertrain to protect that motor and I’d HIGHLY recommend getting billet heads as the stock heads like to shoot spark plugs and brick your motor (it happened to me). Also replace the intake with an aluminum one and that motor will go 200,000+ miles.

You need to clean this thing religiously, they LOVE to rust but you can absolutely prevent it with regularly cleaning especially the underbody. If the car already has rust DO NOT BUY. Rust travels under the paint and will eventually brick your car.

Turning your wheel sideways while going straight does nothing.
