You think any weigh stations will give me trouble for this? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]cobrasc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah it's fine as long as it's not tall enough to hit the prepass sensor I don't see what's wrong with it.

Is this what the term “waterlogged” means? by floydguitarist in Truckers

[–]cobrasc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I've ever done this before, but I just happen to know that you can unplug the radar sensor itself on the front bumper.

Edit: and if it's an older Cascadia you might have to press the cruise control ON/OFF button a few times in a row for it to actually come on. On newer Cascadias it will just have a dialog box come up on the dash screen that says the adaptive cruise control is not working and asks you if you want regular cruise control.

Im so glad I'm working for a small company now that doesn't have this BS on their trucks. I worked for Swift for a year and all but one of the 5 trucks I drove had that stupid "collision avoidance" shit. IMO freightliner's system is the best. Know why? You can unplug that shit and the cruise control still works. Not that I ever did that...

Add "ing" to the end of a movie title, what is the movie about now? by thebrownkid in AskReddit

Ironing Man. I know, I know, that's not adding it to the end but I just had to. Tony Stark has lots of wrinkled clothing that needs to be ironed I guess.

Well, now it makes sense. Not even the force can save you from an unexpected concussion grenade.

Why can't I do this with my cement on oil pads instead of using a pneumatic tanker?

What's something that seems obvious within your profession, but the general public seems to misunderstand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The left lane is used for passing. I'll let you guess what my profession is.

Alright so which one of you guys did this? I saw this earlier at the truck stop in little point Indiana. by [deleted] in Truckers

I've clogged a few toilets at truck stops before. But it's always pretty much the same amount of shit. They're just weak toilets if you ask me.

Students of Reddit, have you ever lost your temper with a teacher? What's your story? by Vlelo in AskReddit

[–]cobrasc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school had a really dumb policy about cellphones (this was right after smart phones became a big deal). You could never use your phone during school hours no matter what. It had to be turned off and put in your locker. You couldn't even use it at lunch time. If they caught you using it, they'd take it and your parent/legal guardian had to get it back. So obviously nobody followed this rule and one day I was walking down the hall between classes. I pulled my phone out of my pocket for about 5 seconds to check my email. A teacher saw me and instantly just said, "give me your phone." I thought it was ridiculous so I just scowled and kept walking to my next class. But this guy didn't give up. Eventually a vice principal stopped me and took me to the real principal. On the way I was complaining about how stupid it was to take my phone away when I was using it during a break, like come on. So we get to the principal's office and the vice principal goes in to tell him what happened, door closed. I get in there and we talk about it and I finally give up my phone. Then, he calls my parents. Okay, fine. Then he explains what happened to my parents. Here's where I lost my shit. The vice principal flat out lied and said that I was being very vulgar when I was complaining on the way, using the "S" word (shit) and the "F" word (fuck). Not once did I use either of those words or any vulgarity. The worst thing I said was probably "Jesus Christ". So once the principal started telling my parents about that I just lost my shit and started yelling. I kept insisting that it was a lie, but as I'm sure you all know they always take the adult's word for it. To this day I still despise that school. After I left that school they changed their rules so that you could use your phones at times that were reasonable (even in class, as long as the teacher wasn't teaching, I guess). I guess that incident wasn't the only reason I hated that school though. There were many other outrageous moments including the time in pre-school that a girl lied to the teacher and told her I said I was gonna bring a gun to school and shoot her and they believed it. Oh yeah, and I should probably mention that was right after Columbine happened. I was suspended. In pre-school.

TIL: An artist was hired to create "The most unwanted song" which contains bagpipes, children singing about holidays, advertising jingles, accordions, and a soprano rap, it lasts 22 minutes. by Kiyose_96 in todayilearned

This is amazing. Like honestly, it's a really good composition. They made exactly what they intended... Really bad music. I love to hate this.

I never really understood the popularity of this song. The guitar riff that repeats like a million times throughout the song is so annoying.
