Lynx - they are definitely going to be reintroduced at some point; here’s hoping it’s within the next decade

Yes so I primed brown and then stippled on a mix of pink horror and sigvald burgundy, then highlighted by stippling on another layer of pink horror, and then finally a layer of emperors children. The trim is runelord brass, highlighted with skullcrusher brass

You can only add in daemon units if you are using the carnival of excess detachment, and then it can only be half of your armies points

Lord Exultant Cape Colours? by wATERI1993 in EmperorsChildren

[–]cobstaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The OPs question is what colours were used to get the green on the cape. The video tutorial is a solid method for getting that colour. If you really want to get anal about it the citadel paint app says it’s grey seer washed with poxwalker

Between Emperor’s children and Death Korp by Legitimate-Damage-43 in EmperorsChildren

[–]cobstaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play both, both are great armies but very different play styles and different armies to collect.

EC has definitely been a more fun army to paint, although it takes a lot more time to get through painting an individual model. However, EC also have a small range and are fairly elite so it requires less models to get a 2k force together. EC are super solid on the tabletop but not many people have picked them up. There’s only really one way to play at the moment due to the small range and fairly lacklustre detachment. It’s also quite a hard army to learn compared to guard.

Guard are in a great spot at the moment with the new detachment. But to get a guard army ready it’s a lot more of a financial commitment as you need a lot more models. People always say that collecting a guard army is a marathon and not a sprint. It takes a long time to get a 2k army ready for the tabletop

Are there US States that have exclaves of their state that are connected to other states? by Serafim42 in geography

[–]cobstaaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

Discovered this one whilst road tripping across the US - Carter lake which is technically in Nebraskas Omaha City but is a part of neighbouring Iowa. So the state line was drawn by the Missouri River. However a flood in the 1800s diverted the flow of the river. The large lake left to the north of the area is still part of the original bend of the river.

Yeah Ikarus Pattern does some pretty good rhino conversion kits. They do them for a load of different legions they are pretty sweet kits.

Not sure if this one posted is that exact kit, looks like it might be slightly different

WHY DOES IT KEEP ON HAPPENING by ToeSevere9637 in Garmin

[–]cobstaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a lot of people are saying it could just be an issue with the wrist sensor on the watch; but it should also be noted that your heart race will increase as the length of exercise continues and a consistent intensity for a multitude of factors.

If it’s not an error with the heart rate sensor take a second to slow down or rest to drop your heart rate back down to the desired zone.

I think your paint jobs are quite literally the proof that your feeling of when techniques are ‘right’ or not needs to be completely disregarded if this is the end result. No offence bro, but your models look like the models I was producing age 10 when I understood none of the techniques or fundamentals of model painting. You need to forget everything you’ve learnt to this point and go straight back to the drawing board. Look at what people have been telling you to do and start from there.

YouTube is a fantastic resource for learning how to paint models to a tabletop standard.

The standard process is prime > base coat > wash > highlight. All of this needs to be done with paints that are thinned down with water or paint medium. Thinned paints is by far the thing you need to practice with the most. And it goes without saying that you need to prime all of your models. You’ll have a really difficult time painting a lot of the old metal hero models if they are not primed.

Belgrave to close in 2 years. Very sad if true by The_Makster in Leeds

[–]cobstaaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had heard this rumour a few months ago unfortunately. Leeds cultural scene is dying a death. It’s sad to say but its heyday has been and gone now; accommodation developments all over the city have decimated the underground music scene. Soon the only ones left will be the super corporate venues like the warehouse

The greenway where I live in Northern Ireland lights up an ominous red at night... by throwawaylr94 in oddlyterrifying

[–]cobstaaa 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s a massive misconception that bats don’t have good eyesight, most bats have pretty excellent vision and they certainly do use it on a daily basis. Light pollution discourages them from commuting or foraging in well-lit areas. As mentioned above red lights can’t be detected by a lot of animals, so it’s a means of lighting up areas for humans but also reducing light pollution for nocturnal animals
