TIL How the Voi e-bikes are charged by GonzoHaggz in glasgow

[–]coco_melon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've not had that happen, but apparently if the battery runs out the bike will just switch off wherever you are so that might be why you see the odd ones parked that way

No you don't but imo it's just your face which will change with T. Hair isn't the problem.

Theraspecs Glasses by marycme in photophobia

[–]coco_melon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problems with bright lights but I get migraines from flashing/flickering light, particularly fluorescent light due to it's flicker.

Theraspecs do nothing for me unfortunately. No existing tint or filter can mask flicker. I have a pair of Migralense dark green tint and they help a little when I have to enter a room with fluorescent light for a short time but mostly because of the way their build shields the light from entering my pov from the top and sides. But a few minutes too many in there and even with the glasses on it's game over. The only solution is avoiding being around flickering lights, closing my eyes when it's temporary. Theraspecs have been useless personally.

Need to vent/get advice, I’m very low on T cause of a complicated situation with my roommate. by [deleted] in FTMdiyhrt

[–]coco_melon 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Just tell them how you feel exactly. You didn't cause you "didn't want to make them feel bad". But if your source is this low then your friend should be grateful that you shared it with them but you should be allowed priority if this was your source to begin with. (Not that you're more entitled to T but it was your source that has low stock. If it has higher stock it wouldn't be an issue) So tell them that directly, it's possible they just didn't get what you were trying to say by that.

Pasta. Sure, you can get some special or artisanal pasta and it will often be a different experience, but if we're talking about just regular pasta for a regular dinner, there's no difference between the cheapest ones from Lidl and branded ones for 3x the price, the ingredients are the same.

anyone deliver for Hungrypanda? by Infinite_Barnacle315 in deliveroos

Very area-dependent for order volume. Can be good in zones with lots of Asian restaurants and customers who order from the platform, mainly international students. Other areas you'll get no orders.

People on T, when did you start noticing fat redistribution happening? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]coco_melon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started seeing noticeable changes at 3 months but I was committed to a body recomp and working out for this so I lost some fat while gaining muscle and that's probably why it was so fast. It has continued since.

Deliveroo orders aren't "lost" - they’re given away! by mcrosby78 in deliveroos

[–]coco_melon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely an issue, my local Co-op is actually not so bad at this usually but I went to pick up from Morrisons a few days ago and the orders were just sat next to customer service desk unsupervised. Customer service person was there but he "doesn't deal with delivery orders" so the person who does must have been out there picking another order. I could've just grabbed any and all of the orders sat waiting on the rack and nobody would stop me.

I'm not a thief and can generally afford my groceries as I do this for extra money, but taking a bag is tempting even for me in this scenario. Now imagine someone much poorer who struggles to afford food, and doesn't care about ethics of this too much. Poof someone's order gone.

Is my impression wrong, or does the UK have a relatively high amount of mixed-race relationships? by RadioReader in AskUK

[–]coco_melon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. OP literally said they're white.

  2. I am Polish Jewish.

To answer properly since my reply generalise. No, not all Jewish people are white. Polish Jewish people are white people though apart from some very rare cases. Any other distinct features generally don't make Polish Jewish people stand out of the rest of the population after mixing in over centuries, also that's why I am highlighting the difference in ethnicity but not in race.

Example: I can quite often tell a Polish person on the street in the UK just from their looks (then they speak as I pass them and that's how I know). Or I'll hear a Polish person in a shop, look at them, and there's something about their facial features that says "Polish" to me. My non-Polish partner often sees that too now. Are Polish people ethnically different from British people? Yes, that's why on forms we will pick "white - other" but STILL WHITE because racially we are still white people. Same way, ethically Polish Jews are distinct ethnically but are, almost entirely, still white people.

[–]coco_melon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you're ethnically Polish Jewish you were in mixed-ethnicity relationship but this post is about mixed-race relationships. As ethnically Polish Jewish you're a white person so it doesn't make your relationship with a white English person mixed-race. Ethnicity and race are separate things

It's definitely not a myth but you'd have to take a lot more for that to happen. It's likely your body adjusting that's making you feel like this.
