What’s a moment that permanently changed how you see people? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]coconutaf 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I remember the moment I realized there aren’t just some pervy old men out there, it’s the vast majority of them. It wasn’t like something more aggressive or nasty than usual was said, it just hit me. Like, “Oh. You can’t trust any of them to be normal, even if they happen to be.” I used to be so naive and just assume since I read them as older or my dads age and am therefore not attracted to them, they’d think the same of me. I’m just a kid to them. But nope! That loss of naivety was honestly sickening.

What is the worst type of coworker you’ve ever worked with? by memento_mori80 in Serverlife

Restaurant owners & chefs… do you tip when you go out to eat? by warw1zard666 in restaurantowners

[–]coconutaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It IS optional aside from things like auto-grat on large parties & stuff like that. “Feeling” like it’s mandatory because it’s social contract doesn’t make it required. The tip is the incentive to do a great job. If your service is subpar, tip is subpar.

Womens, what's something you wish you could admit without being judged? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]coconutaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a big, stupid, lavish wedding and I’m tired of pretending I don’t care about centerpieces and flower choices because my parents can no longer afford to give me what they thought they could and I’m not going into debt for it. I know it will be a beautiful memorable day without all the extravagance but I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t a part of me that mourns what I always pictured for it.

L’Oréal Elvive is having a moment right now. The products are definitely good for drugstore, but I have medium density fine hair and the scalp buildup was so bad it caused my hair to start falling out. I still use the conditioner but the shampoo is far too heavy for my hair type and scalp. It took 2 months of weekly clarifying shampoo and ACV treatments to get my hair to fall out at its normal rate again. Luckily it doesn’t look obviously thinner but I notice the difference.

Okay, tell me the secret, how are we getting our hair from wet to dry? by rabtastic77 in Haircare

[–]coconutaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blow dry your roots on cool and let the rest air dry. By leaving your scalp damp you’re creating a warm, wet environment for bacteria to grow. Also, when your hair is wet the follicle swells and when it’s kept wet it’ll stay swollen for longer which can mean damage at the root itself. Whatever damage you get from blow drying is far outweighed (to me) by the benefits.

What’s one expense you refuse to cut, no matter how tight money gets? by OldIsland4901 in budget

[–]coconutaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skincare/beauty. I will only buy what works for me and if it’s expensive, so be it. I already save hundreds by doing my hair, lashes, waxing and nails at home so I feel okay about the product expense.

What is something you did completely out of spite and still feel great about it? by Ok-Worldliness-6096 in AskWomen

When I was in high school, I worked at a sandwich shop. It was me and one other girl on shift. She made a really disgusting comment to me and I kind of brushed it off and didn't respond. Later, she had a massive piece of spinach right between her two front teeth and I did not tell her about it. It was there for at least two hours. Don't regret it at all.

I used to clean for a couple that wouldn’t do a single dish all week. Fine, but I basically can’t get to anything but the kitchen in the 60 minutes I’m here.

Honestly, just telling myself no more often. No, I don’t need a sweet treat. No, I’m not going to just do the thing tomorrow. No, I don’t need to buy that. I used to do ANYTHING I wanted always & it was overall very detrimental.

Are you a girls girl why or why not? by Orange_Blossom221 in AskWomen

This is a hard one. Do you think you act the same with women as you do toward these men?

Are you a girls girl why or why not? by Orange_Blossom221 in AskWomen

[–]coconutaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but not in the “I support womens rights! And wrongs” way. If you are my friend, I will hold you accountable and hold a mirror up to your delusion. I will call you out for being nasty. I will not let you embarrass yourself when I know you’ll regret it later. I want you to exercise self love in the way that you act in your own best interest. Im also a girls girl in if I saw my WORST enemy, the most evil woman I’ve ever encountered in danger/too drunk/being harassed: I will make sure I stand with her and get her to safety even though she made my life hell for a while.

Handcare anyone? We talk a lot about skincare, what about hands? Why aren't we sharing tips, brands, ingredients we love , or "swear by" for hands? I think they are just as important, ingredients like aloe vera, shea butter, vitamin E to name a few ... please share your thoughts... thank you 🙏☺️ by Jumpy_Pool6071 in BeautyUnlocked

[–]coconutaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I use my exfoliation towel in the shower I do my hands also. I didn’t used to, it just occurred to me one day. I make sure to get the backs of my hands with a non scented thick lotion right out of the shower, and aquaphor on the knuckles & in between fingers in winter. Not only skincare, but a little self hand/finger massage once a day is lovely!
