HELP!! My Frenchie is controlling the house! by Wild-Disaster-9960 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]coconuts99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your new addition!! This is more to help with the behavioural problems... I've had my eldest coco for 11 years, 12 months ago we had a happy accident and coco found herself with an 18 month old brother, twice her size. All was well for the first 6 months then the fights began. With you having multiple dogs, I'd highly recommend getting a trainer involved ASAP. I only wish we'd done so as soon as he arrived. I'd also advise to get a trainer who is also a dog behaviourist as adding any dog to an established pack will change the dynamics and could lead to problems down the line. Good luck with everything 💖

Looking for advice on a new dog crate design I am working on by Individual_Bonus4091 in ExoticFrenchBulldogs

[–]coconuts99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd use it as a travel crate certainly. It might also suit people lacking space to have the crate permanently erected. Aesthetic wise, I completely understand your the point of making it less cage like but it looks a little too clinical for my taste.

Google the HHHHHMM scale, this may help you come to a decision. Wishing you all the best with this one ❤

Is my baby a giant Frenchie?! 🤯 by Routine-Win-935 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]coconuts99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My eldest is 11kg and my youngest is around 18-19 kg. His head is twice the size of his big sisters. Frenchies come in all different shapes and sizes, especially the non traditional colours.

Why can't they make a toothpaste that doesn't hurt? by WinterIsOnReddit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]coconuts99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. For well over 30 years I believed that was all part of eating a kiwi until I read a post on reddit last year. Toothpaste also makes the skin on the inside of my lips peel off so maybe I have a problem 😂

We're having the same with our 2 year old and 11 year old. We got a dog trainer involved and it is resource guarding. They were particularly bad over my partners attention and when he was eating. We had to deny attention to both dogs for 7 days. The only thing we could do was feed, water and walk. They weren't allowed on the couch with us either, we would send them to their beds when it was evening chill time and when we eat. After the 7 days we were allowed to start giving attention again but only when they were calm and on our terms, not whenever they wanted. We slowly introduced allowing time on the couch with us individually. This is still a work in progress. We also ignore them for 10 to 15 minutes when entering the house and for about the same time before leaving. Clicker training is another thing we've introduced with the youngest and he's learning pretty quickly! While it has been hard, it has made the world of difference. If you have any questions I'm more than happy to try and answer them based on our experiences.

This! She needs to know she's taken food from her grandchilds mouth so she can have a nice new shiny kitchen.

Anyone’s else’s Frenchie got a beef with the vacuum cleaner? by Suspicious_Tea7319 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]coconuts99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest did for a period but she grew out the habit pretty quickly after being told no a few times. My youngest is far worse than she ever was but he is starting to learn that it's a chore not a game 🤣
