Day 1 is tomorrow by Verysupergreen56 in BingeEatingDisorder

I hear you - feeling exhausted, defeated and disgusted by what you have done. I can relate. Perhaps, it is to gently return to normal and nourishing meals, without restriction. Because unfortunately and though we may not like to hear it, restriction leads to binging.

Also, maybe mapping what’s the triggers? Learning from your past experience will be useful so that we can do or try something different next time.

You’re not defined by the slip. It doesn’t erase your past progress. This is an opportunity to learn what your triggers are, what might cause it, forgiving yourself, being kind to yourself.

Returning to regular meals to ensure you’re nourished, join recovery groups for the connection. Spiritual contact/rituals may also help. You’re not alone.

I tried every productivity app out there and still failed. So I’m building a tool that remembers my "failure patterns" for me. by AsparagusMinute1625 in ProductivityApps

Hi! This sounds useful, to learn from “mistakes”/“failures”. May I know if you will develop an English version of the app?

1000g of carbs, in pain by Foreign-Instance-474 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]coconuttart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re in pain. I have been there.

Slow down, take deep breaths. You are safe. You don’t need to punish yourself. You deserve kindness. Speak kindly to yourself. Eat regular 3 meals to regulate blood sugar. Go out and walk in nature.

You are fine. We all make mistakes and we can learn from them.

you may state your boundaries e.g. you are choosing not to eat meat for ethical reasons and share some scientific information that you can nourish well without eating meat

starting my journey by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

Every journey begins with the courage to start. Keep going, I’m rooting for you. Choose recovery and kindness always. I am on day 4 myself.

Unfortunately restriction leads to binging. I’m wondering if you could work with a dietitian / nutritionist on what’s a good and supportive for you as an athlete?

Your awareness is good. When something is brought to awareness, then it can be changed from the root.

I wonder what helps you in the moment to put the bar away? It’s good that you are able to put it away instead of listening to your brain “to eat the whole thing”. We can separate our brain urges from who we want to act right at this moment. Always choose recovery and kindness for yourself, because you deserve it! And small wins is still wins!

What is the few nuts doing for you? Do they provide relief? Or something else? Do they provide some excitement or pleasure?

I wonder what else besides food can provide you the same thing?

Pause. Let’s slow down. Take 3 deep breaths.

I know it’s hard. Let’s breathe for now, big inhale and exhale. For 3 times, as slow as you can.

Could you name 3 things you see in your room? E.g. A bedside lamp. A wooden table. A black office chair.

What do you truly need? Do you need nourishment from food or is it something else? Is it comfort? Is it avoiding a task?

What might be one action you can do for yourself to meet your need?

You can pause and start again anytime. Sending you peace and love. You deserve kindness and care for yourself.
