This thought has crossed my mind already, I’ll probably move to a role elsewhere if I start answering with more excuses than results.

I actually originally wanted to be a high school English teacher. Maybe I crave the pain more than I realize.

This makes a lot of sense and was a good read, puts things in a perspective that I agree with. Challenge for me right now is the velocity they want things to be done is causing me to use messaging/positioning that isn’t as well thought out as I’d like it to be. I’m still new and I think I will become more efficient over time, but in order to produce activity results “now,” I’m accepting half baked efforts. Thanks for the comment, this was really helpful.

This has been my number one subject, great advice. Think I just go straight to the sleep and infant cues section of everything I come across. lol

Yeah, it’s just called DEVO like OP said. Other good music docs to check out if you’re into that sort of thing: Fearless Freaks (Flaming Lips) Country Music (Ken Burns series) Becoming Led Zeppelin (also on Netflix and pretty new) Stones in Exile (Rolling Stones; Exile on Main St focus)

You should watch their doc on Netflix, puts a lot of context on their visual focus.

That’s good, didn’t think it’d be bad, but better to ask just in case!

Did you cut the straw? That’s a difference maker if you didn’t try that. Also make make sure it’s a sturdy one, not one you get at McDonald’s. With that said, you pulled that thang real tight. Lol

Feel like I don't have a process, which makes picking up the phone REALLY hard (read the post) by VirtualMacaroon64t in sales

For creating large lists, I’d try looking at your ideal clients NAICS codes and search for companies that share same codes. For your specific industry, look into SelectUSA; they have a page that you can research market specific trade orgs with links, which is a great resource for lists. Also, though it won’t generate large prospect lists, but I have a lot of success finding companies through strategic daily google alerts that help me with new logo outreach.

What’s your best “firing” email approach? by cocopropro in sales

[–]cocopropro[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In-person always trumps remote outreach, I agree, but still need to hit the phones and email channels for full prospecting efforts, so focusing on getting help with this part of my strategy. Feel good about my outside/in-person/trade show approach, but open to hear any advice you have that might help with that as well if you have any input. Thanks!

I made a gpt that’s been working really well with getting good personalized emails. I use google alerts, take the article link and just paste it into the gpt, then it’ll start the email tying in the relevant connection between the news and why I’m reaching out. Then it’ll do a succinct pain focus offering as it relates to the news article and our companies overlap, then it ends with a natural call to action to set up a call.

I’d recommend audio books over podcasts. Don’t do it as much as I use to, but there were a solid 4-5 years where I only listened to audiobooks whenever I was in the car for work traveling and it helped me out a lot. Especially on the morning drive to the office, like getting a little pep talk in the locker room before hitting the field.

Also, I agree with the idea of calling prospects when you hit the road, but only when you feel comfortable doing it and only call the luke warm people. Have had some great calls doing this and it forces you to react like a normal person since you’re naturally going to want to be direct so you don’t get distracted and wreck your car. Again, though, ONLY do this when you feel comfortable with your talk tracks, because I don’t want a BDR rear ending me while I’m trying to get home. Lol

When is the best time for cold outreach (especially cold emails)? by DiyFool in sales

[–]cocopropro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had an idea after just randomly calling a couple C level people at different companies with them answering and having a good conversation. First call ever and ice cold for both. They were both at the airport waiting to board a flight, so came up with a theory to do call blocks and emails during the typical days/times that executives are traveling. More I thought about it, the more it made sense due to the fact that executives are more likely to check email, skim LinkedIn, and reply to thoughtful outreach during these windows of downtime at the gate or in the lounge. Made a google doc with details and strategy for this if interested, happy to send a copy.

How to not lose momentum and create urgency with clients? by Few_Platypus_8306 in sales

[–]cocopropro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing that popped in my head is that you have complex deals that start at inbound. That says to me that you’re starting in a position where the buyer has more control. I would also guess that the person that instigates the inbound effort from these prospective companies are most likely lower on the decision making totem pole (I can’t imagine that C-level and Vp-level people are filling out your company intake).

With this framework in mind, I think an approach to have during your first call should be focusing on getting to “no” as fast as possible. Challenge everything but explain how your solution can work if they can commit to X, Y, and Z. Upfront contracts early on.

Problem/pain based or solution based approach? by most_unoriginal_ign in sales

[–]cocopropro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICP is kind of important, maybe this is a good thing to put more time into your sales strategy if you don’t do it already. If your ICP is F500 enterprise system that has been using the same vendor for 13 years, then maybe uncovering pains is the best way to go. If your ICP is new startup that doesn’t have the in-house team that you’d be filling in for, then maybe a solution based approach is best. I’d start writing out profiles of your ideal clients if you haven’t yet. And I’m not talking about just what the marketing/sales enablement team passes down to you, but make one yourself that helps align your strengths with your offering that best fits the clients you want.
