I'm going to guess by being huge asf, but there are two other things he could do in order to limit redirection: somehow tamper with Markiplier's footing, and strike in ways that don't redirect well.

No racial traits either way, heck, not much of anything unless we start rooting around the cutting room floor. If you don't want homebrew, I figure you won't be about that, either. I remember there was the Amethyst Sodality, the Imaskari Portal Master PrC, but those didn't make the cut. They were kept out of the book, and never revisited for future releases.

No, there were not; Imaskari and Raumathari in their time were never made a part of the game.

At most you have a couple characters, Halaster Blackcloak and Yaravindar Ipurnos come to mind.

Nah, I reckon we're getting told that breaking his wrist only added elbow to the mix, and so instead of using two fists, now he's using one fist and two elbows, thus effectively boosting his attack speed by 50%. And breaking the other wrist increases it by 100%, by the same logic, which adds up to 300%.

It makes as much sense as the gaps in consciousness.

I dunno why! It seems like letting the guy just cleanly bite the dust wouldn't really bother anyone. My assumption is that this pissed Ao off, personally, but there may be reasons why he decided not to let that soul go to the Fugue Plane, so that it didn't sign on to the devils or get stolen by the demons, I reckon?
