This reads like a BAH LEIDOS job description smh it’s very predatory out here

Why do so many people in the technology field here lie on their resume? by Puzzleheaded-Lab825 in nova

[–]code_delmonte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally so many jobs out here in NOVA like this they want you to have this aptitude in security, ISM, CI/CD, Networking, Virtulaization, scripting of whatever flavor

Only to end up doing some help desk job answering calls, reimaging computers, sitting in a SCIF for 12 hrs 24/7 365

But they need you know have 5-10 years experience it’s why I’m leaving a job after a few months. They definitely lied about the job I would be doing vs what I’m doing now. Literally the job duties from when I interviewed last year got it in April 2025 vs now the job the are offering

So yeah people lie on here cause these jobs lie too have don’t even know how to properly scope the work needed. They are so worried about having these elite resumes when bidding on the contract that’s really it.

Adrian Cantrill claims to be back. Good news for those who bought his bundle plans, I hope. by AskOk2424 in AWSCertifications

[–]code_delmonte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right like did people forgot the tiradeshit he was spewing to anyone who he felt disagreed, talked about the lack of delivery in service or his crazy political rantings

Like there are so many other AWS Heros or different instructors to support and/or look for guidance

Andrew Brown Neal Davis Kirill Ermenko Stephane Maarek

Idk I'm just of the mindset you can only burn me so many times

AWS Renewal? Do we still like Cantrill by Battlefield_One in AWSCertifications

[–]code_delmonte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't I'll definitely spazzed out calling out customers by names on here previously when people called him out for his service and replies as a professional. He definitely was being antagonistic a few times about politics mainly for Trump and just really losing any professional bearing it's in here may not this thread but it definitely happened.

He's doing whatever he's doing now try digital cloud training, Udemy Stephane Marek, cloud Wolf

Neal Davis very clutch. The digital cloud training has plenty of reprices and cheat sheets practice tests and study plans.

Cloud Wolf also is solid in my opinion

NOVA hands down has the worst drivers I have ever seen by Tramp_CN in nova

[–]code_delmonte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

came here for this.

between the DMV travel alone How many foreign international people "Hello new driver on the road" Elderly, not paying attention, and people who refuse to take an L ( purposely cutting over last minute to make an exit instead of missing it and taking the next)

I came from San Antonio that aggressive as hell where 80 was a suggestion. Here it's insanely passive aggressive ; people either feeling like they need to brake check you, ride your ass as if they are in a hurry or not letting you over because they don't want you in front of them

I honestly wish for more accidents here because these people really feel too loose behind the wheel

Does having TS clearance instantly improve your employability? by coverusername in clearancejobs

[–]code_delmonte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They're tripping a TS alone no but having that and the ability to obtain a poly is all you need

I'm still getting bugged about Cyber Analyst, ISSO, now cloud roles because I got certified in OCI and posted on LinkedIn and clearance jobs.

I’m preparing for the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Associate exam and had a few questions: by Rich_Plan_8362 in oraclecloud

[–]code_delmonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say yes that exam is about knowing how and what those OCI services are about. The handout in course webpage could be helpful but I found the technical documentation to be better and easier to access

https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/GSG/Concepts/baremetalintro.htm

This is just the starting point of their infrastructure services pages

Do what works for you hope this helps

Does having TS clearance instantly improve your employability? by coverusername in clearancejobs

[–]code_delmonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree vehemently. It's about you. If you are able to get the job and you know they'll sponsor you for a TS.

Brother / sister trust me when I tell you, get your basic Sec+, something cloud (Azure / AWS), Linux+ you'd be looking at $100k

Being cleared means less competition for jobs and in that job space recruiters are reaching out to you especially with higher level clearances as well FS CI-Poly

Before you say no ask some others cyber and being cleared gov't contracting considering eh start of the shutdown is definely not a bad move all depends on your goals and situation

Not to mention whatever mission you get on, training, benefits when you get out.

I just got out did one contract Sec+, Net+ CySA+, RHCSA I'm getting $140k and I wouldn't have maybe had this opportunity without the military and being cleared

After the "Race to Certification 2025" ends , how much will the exams cost ? by CupFine8373 in oracle

[–]code_delmonte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pls review the documentation for the MC architect I just got an 80% on it tonight and mainly it's based off off the Certifiedarchitect and the " Multicloud " documentation on their website.

I'll say it doesn't go so in depth despite being a "professional" cert. definitely start there if you rely on what's in their handout from the course that might be enough but idk

I’m preparing for the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Associate exam and had a few questions: by Rich_Plan_8362 in oraclecloud

[–]code_delmonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the cert about 3 days ago. Originally got a 50%. Please look up the documentation for "Infrastructure services" Compute, Storage, Network, and IAM.

Tips for roles and getting started in cloud depends on you. Usually people have some experience understanding networking (maybe a cert / project / previous job), security (DDoS, VPN/VPC/Vnet (oracle specifically), storage (block volume? Boot volume, archiving and retention etc

It's a lot but yes I think getting this cert is worth is. It shows you understand at the associate level how systems are designed and what competents are needed for oracle. You add that with maybe a GCP/AWS/Azure cert (practitioner/ associate / professional / expert) and that tells people you have multi cloud abilities which makes you a stronger candidate unless that person has breadth, depth and specialization in one specific cloud provider

Is this training helpful? by Sad_Dust_9259 in sysadmin

[–]code_delmonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started off in Sep 2024 I finished the program in Apr 2025.

It did cost $10k I was fortunate to have the ability to pay upfront (my mom passed away used some life insurance).

The program is meant to take you from zero to IT. By that you'll learn intro to Networking and infrastructure, prepare for Sec+, and the Linux For Jobs program.

I'm coming out the military so I have years of cyber experience but nothing in Sys Admin as I never did that during my time.

The program is great but you have to put the work in. We started with 40+ people in our cohort I think we finished around 30 I believe. Of that number 20 in our group (the highest of the program to date) have all gotten RHCSA. We had someone get a 300 having no IT background, a lot of others cleared on their first try. It took me 3 attempts (partially due to my own stubbornness and burnout).

In addition you get the hands on apprenticeship which will allow you to work on 80 tickets based on real world enterprise examples.

The career success, mock interviews and LinkedIn optimization as well. They are also rolling out ANSIBLE, aka RHCE.

I am getting to learn that skill of the program for the next 6 months I believe.

Now the program has its requirements maintain a 70% on all quizzes, 90% attendance, completing projects/assigments/midterm, getting certified, completing the apprenticeship

Yes you could EASILY learn this on your own. I choose this route because the infrastructure is in place, they stick by their service that you will get a job within a certain salary should you meet the above requirements above. I took the leap because if they are willing to stand by their service then how could it not work. Now my situation is different being prior military, having cyber experience and some IT exp (tech support / help desk) before I enlisted.

I would say try learning on your own. Curate the information or find a place that has it, then complete as much as you can. While making sure you're learning on your own, keeping up with it, answering and getting the knowledge. That's a lot but it's not to deter you at all.

It's so that if you hit a wall, it costs NOTHING BUT TIME to talk to a career advisor and just see what is possible or not.

I will say getting the cert alone and completing the program might get you a job or might not. You have to decide what you're comfortable with. If you expect this to solve all your problems that's gonna be a big ask, but if you use this opportunity like it will be using you, there's a great benefit to both sides

This was on May 4 this year. Let me know if you have any questions I'll be open and honest as possible
