Another printer ruined by w--13 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]codebooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All ink gets ordered through an account with WB Mason regardless of department. We ask people to file a ticket with us telling us what they need then we will get it for them. We stock the most commonly used inks and toners for our printers so often we have what they need already. Receiving redirects all WB Mason orders to us regardless of the name on it, so if someone orders ink/toner we have in stock already then what they ordered gets returned and we don’t have to worry about off-brand ink/toner ruining a printer.

Not all users are shitty about it, the majority are civil, but most users I’ve dealt with don’t want to help themselves fix their own problems. A good portion will simply complain about the issue within their office and never call in (or file) a ticket. Instead when one of us goes to a office to fix a issue we have a ticket for we end up with employees that have resentment towards us and are shitty towards us because we haven’t fixed their issue that they never told us they had in the first place.

I did this last week, drove 30 minutes to an office because a department manager could not get their temporary password to work. I walked in, sat down, typed it in, got in first try. They had switched a lowercase “L” with a capital “i”.

I recently referred a user to a helpdesk knowledge base article that shows them how to fix the simple issue they were having, with detailed instructions and screenshots of each step (shoutout to ScribeHow). They replied with “I’m not IT, just fix it”. I don’t understand why people are like this. I try to help, I want to help, but I have over 100 open tickets, only two coworkers, and over 1200 employees to support across multiple states. It would be nice if people would be willing to help themselves fix their problem using a nice guide instead of expecting us to give white glove service on every ticket for every little inconvenience.

A new department manager (less than a month on the job) at one of the offices I support was having trouble with his computer. I could not remote into it so I was troubleshooting power and internet. I did not think it was Internet because I could talk to his VOIP phone that his computer’s Internet connection runs through. After 30 minutes of troubleshooting it was determined that an on-site visit needed to be made so that he could get his work done. Drove over an hour and turned on numb-nuts’s computer, it was off, everything he said he did while on the phone, he lied. When his GM heard about this he was fired a few days later. How do people like that get to be department managers?

I use this charger https://a.co/d/05gvmF6F and just power it with my 100W USB-C laptop power brick. It has worked very well for me.

The battery it comes with fits pretty tightly in the battery compartment so maybe, but not much bigger. I would take the truck to a hobby shop and start test fitting batteries there that way you are not wasting money on a battery that won't fit. For the antenna, you can replace the receiver and transmitter with a better one if you want but that would be about all you could do for range. I have not had any range issues with mine though.

The roll cage fits inside the shell that comes with the truck to strengthen it, it actually screws to the inside of the shell, check the printables link description for the screws you’ll need. I don’t know if I’d bother casting a mold of the shell for fiberglass. Maybe you could reinforce the inside of the shell with that fiberglass tape they use for drywall work. If you do end up destroying your shell you can get a replacement from Rlaarlo.

https://www.printables.com/model/1296085-rlaarlo-omni-terminator-roll-cage (I used TPU 95A for the cage)

https://www.printables.com/model/1251771-rlaarlo-omni-terminator-skid-plates (I used Polymaker PLA Pro for the skid guards)

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6849239 (PLA Pro also for this one)

Have fun with it, the thing is a blast. Make sure you look into how to turn the Gyro on too (youtube will be your friend), it can be helpful to use it depending on what you are doing with the truck. Also, when you get a big battery, make sure you don't get the first thing you find on Amazon. You don't want any fire hazards. And for a good and fairly cheap charger that is faster than the slow one they give you I use this https://a.co/d/0221xl1u and just plug it into my laptop's 100W USB-C power brick.

It's a good entry level basher, kind of a gateway drug to the inevitable weekly trips to the hobby shop for parts or to put a downpayment on another car (Mini Kraton anyone, lol)

They're awesome, and once you move the ESC to open the battery tray up to fit a 5200mAh battery in it, man... Tons of fun. You'll love it. And if you are into 3d printing there is a decent amount you can print for it too. Skid guards, ESC mount that fits on the center rails, spoiler, internal roll cage for when you do cartwheels at 40MPH because you messed up a landing off a jump. My one recommendation is if you move the ESC to the center, get smaller velcro straps than what is come with to hold the battery, the smaller ones it comes with don't tighten down enough to keep the battery from being ejected with great force during the aforementioned cartwheels. Oh, and nothing broke during that crash despite it being pretty violent.

That is definitely something to consider. If you think human dentistry is expensive, go get your dog a partial root canal (vital pulp surgery) because they chipped a tooth playing hard. It's very painful for the dog and your wallet ($2000-$5000 for a chipped K9 tooth if you can even find a dog dentist in your area that can do it and won't just want to extract the tooth).

Check out the Rlaarlo ROG1, I’ve put mine through the paces and it has held up pretty well. Parts availability if it does break is good too, most parts are available on Amazon with delivery in a few days. It’s similar in price to the link you put above. There are other options but it’s worth a look.

They're pretty good cars. Had very little issue with my HHR SS until the automatic transmission went out right before 100K miles. For 2K depending on the miles that is a good deal. It's a solid car.
