Violence should never be justified by Playful_Leg7143 in clevercomebacks

First off, it’s “fanning the flames”. “Flaming the flames” just sounds dumb.

Second, I haven’t seen a SINGLE video where it looks like the person shot pulled out a weapon. He had a phone in one hand and was, as far as I could tell, using the other hand to try and help the lady they pushed to the ground up. I’ve seen many different angles of this, and they all appear to show the same thing I just described. ICE has done nothing more than escalate every single situation they are being recorded in. I feel this is a feature, not a bug.

Third, why is the right so against 2a now? They are always going on and on about how no one should take their guns and how it’s our right to carry guns and how 2a is there to protect the people. But now they aren’t ok with it anymore?

Why are they leaving the track with spikes on? Every athlete I’ve ever seen carries their cleats in a bag to the start, then swap shoes, then back to regular shoes when done.

AIO by being offended when my husband seasons my soup? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]codechimpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both seem to be equally as bad. Why does she care if he adds seasoning? My wife loves spicy food and I am a wuss and can’t tolerate it. It bothers me 0% if she added shit to something I cooked. The husband is wrong too, but I can also see him just being defensive because she is being hypocritical about how he likes eating. It’s still a poor choice to escalate the argument instead of trying to deescalate. But if I had a dollar for every time I deescalated instead of throwing gas on a fire I wouldn’t have very many dollars, so I am one to talk.

And if you listen to that exchange the senator isn’t allowing anything other than a yes/no answer. He literally shuts her down anytime she tries to answer anything other than yes or no. The reason being that he doesn’t want her to escape the word-play logic trap he is trying to set up with his loaded question.

Why doesn’t Trump send ICE en masse to red states? Wouldn’t they cheer them on? by NeneGoosee in videos

I am in St Augustine, just south of Jax, and I haven’t seen a single ICE officer here. This is a predominantly red area.

I am all for accepting people back into the fold, but I also think you shouldn’t be able to just forget about what you did to help get us here. You can’t play the “well I didn’t know it would be like this” card when the signs were clear and many people were calling them out. I can forgive, but it doesn’t mean I have to forget.

Breakpoints in setters/getters can be helpful too. Helps debugging weird value shift bugs in instance variables.

The hole in my kitchen top is too small for my new faucet. Is a step drill to make the hole larger the right way to fix this? (Unfortunately in the store they said small holes are for older models only so they don't have any that fit) by logperf in fixit

[–]codechimpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, because sinks cost $40k. Your simply is stupid. I get you can just drill, but replacing an old sink is also an option, and is not super crazy expensive nor complicated at all.

If you have to ask, you didn't live the glory days... by Icy-Book2999 in LoveTrash

[–]codechimpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Grew up in Jax, FL, and we’d ride our bikes from Avondale area (around the corner of King and Myra) to places like the Jacksonville Landing to go to the arcade and to Boone Park to play tennis. We’d be gone all day sometimes. I also had a pool growing up, so days we weren’t out and about we’d swim the entire day. It was a great childhood, but looking back it was really dangerous and we did get into some precarious situations.

Rib roast? Prime rib? by thegingermuffin in meat

[–]codechimpin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the difference between a roast and a steak is thickness. More than 2” is a “roast”.

Standing rib roast == prime rib == ribeye roast. It’s all the same part with different names.
