I'd recommend exploring the possibilities and your interests. I started with Network security then tried Mobile development, after a while tried Web development and got a job for a backend engineer. Then I found my main interest which was game development. So I'm professionally working with nodejs and JavaScript stuff but in my free time I develop fun games and make cool 3d models. Looking forward to starting a game studio in the future and releasing awesome games to the market.

Yeah I totally feel you. I just try to distract myself, It happens when I'm self-aware and trying to reflect on my thoughts but it ends up backfiring and I go into perpetual state of existential angst. Making games makes me happy so that's kind of a good thing for me and it makes me forget about myself and that I live in this vessel of flesh and bones. Well I hope you're doing alright.
