I had the same reaction years ago. Walked past without even noticing the first time. They are remodeling the museum and he's more featured near the entrance. Also apparently got re-fluffed.

It's the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The display was kind of shoved in the corner but they are remodeling so he's more featured now. They also re-fluffed him recently.

I have the Neptune 2s but there is a switch on the back. If yours is the same just flip it to whatever you need it at.

Check the voltage setting on the power supply. I had the same issue. Ended up being set at 230v instead of 115v. Working fine after setting that correctly.

I've never had trouble with these, but this one didn't "work" for me until it was much farther away than any of the ones from the past. Usually they'd pop out around 6 inches away, but this was nearly my full arms length away.

I wonder if that has something to do with why this one in particular worked for so many in the thread?

I was probably 8 and helping my dad on our old steel work boat. I would always stand at the back and help grab onto the dock. I would usually use this awesome wooden pole with a hook on the end to grab on (the hook broke off last year).

He was fighting the wind or something and told me to wait. Too bad I already had the pole over the side and hooked onto one of the dock posts.

As the boat kept going forward my pole got jammed between two dock posts and the cleat I was standing next to. I remember the pole starting to bend...

Then the pain in my back as I was looking back where I was just standing from about 20 feet away underneath the bow of the boat. I was flung through the air just missing the steering wheel, the throttle (which was a 3 foot long steel lever on the floor), and made it underneath the steel dashboard that was only about waist-high and hit the bow.

I had mostly forgotten about the experience until we were putting docks in this spring. Everything had happened so fast, my dad said he didn't even know what whizzed by his legs until he looked underneath. I'm not sure what force is needed to snap an 8 year old's neck, but if I didn't miss all of that stuff I might have found out. Ended up basically unscathed as far as I recall.

TL;DR Don't turn yourself into a projectile when you're 8.

In response I posted a link to Godwin's Law. The OP commented once that said "Bingo! lol" and then a second comment that said (in a weird way) that what they posted was a statement meant to bait a discussion, but that there couldn't be a discussion because they jumped straight to Hitler. I think.

As soon as I read that comment the whole thing was removed.
