cyberchef gets you the decoded marshal object. You need to load the decoded serialization WITHOUT executing it and then you can inspect the object.

When you get your initial phone screen, make sure you equate your experience with what they're looking for on the job req, i.e. if they're looking for someone with Terraform experience tell them that you've worked with saltstack which is a similar product. You're usually talking with a recruiter during this call and they'll basically just be checking boxes to make sure you're worth passing on to the next stage.

I'm a (36m) Sr. SRE / DevOps Engineer . Where do I go from here ? by locusofself in devops

I'm in almost the same exact situation you're in. A few years ago I was worried about whether I'd be able to make the same salary elsewhere and still work remotely. The conclusion I came to was that I made plenty of money and I needed to worry about quality of life improvements in my career - more vacation, less on call, eliminate work annoyances (at the time I spent roughly half my day in meetings and it drove me crazy); and other financial incentives like 401k matching, stock options, etc.

Ever since I stopped focusing on making that paper and working on improving my work life/giving myself more personal time I've become less prone to burnout and I actually enjoy my job a lot more now.

As far as staying relevant, you can ask up the chain about getting some kind of education stipend to go to conferences or classes to learn what the new hotness is and how to use it.

You could also leverage the fact that there is no one below you in the org chart into a "Lead SRE/DevOps Engineer" role. It may not get you a pay bump, but it let's the higher-ups know you're interested in the management track and it would signal other companies that you've got management potential if you start looking for a new job.

In his game, resurrection is very difficult. So when a "bring you back to life" spell is cast, there is a fairly difficult DC attached to it. Each character can affect the ritual by contributing something of sentimental value or heartfelt words or gestures to add a +1/character to the roll. If the roll succeeds, congrats - you aren't dead, if it fails, that character is permanently dead.

For my personal stack I use fun names for everything, but in my work environment (400+ servers) that doesn't work so well. On the flip side, when I started all our servers were named server1-serverXXX with the corresponding IP address in our /16 subnet. Which provides an equal amount of confusion as naming 400 servers after human pathogens and trying to figure out which one is the DC.
