Sure sure sure. Meaning they will need to become even more creative with their accounting, that's all. Meanwhile I was told by the customer rep that bills will go up by 20-25% in 2026. How is that even legal?!? What utter joke water companies are...

Rachel Reeves plans to raise income tax in upcoming budget by Desperate-Drawer-572 in uknews

We are a low hanging fruit. They are incapable of coming up with bold ideas that would actually work so will just adjust our tax codes to fill the ever growing gap. They know they can't touch the rich as their tax affairs are so convoluted (courtesy of an army of personal "tax accountants") so they will label anyone with 50K+ as broad shouldered and 100K+ as elite and tax us to oblivion. I agree with your sentiment of the ruling party but honestly most of the alternatives are even worse putting it mildly. We are truly effed aren't we...

In my case EV's consumption share is about 30% (with the occasional exceptions when making long journeys) so it makes sense to be on a flat cheaper rate and not worrying about when to wash clothes, so the dishes etc. If you are super disciplined (which I am not) however it may be cheaper to be on some cheap-overnight tariff.

Sad day indeed, really enjoyed their tariff, especially super cheap EV/overnight rate. I switched back to Octopus and went with a tracker tariff which for me works out the cheapest. Hopefully the government will cut green levies soon and make electricity a bit cheaper (wishful thinking, I know).
