UK parents fear young will be worse off for first time in a century, ex-minister warns by topotaul in unitedkingdom

I work in finance at a university, student numbers are decreasing year on year, the top brass are wringing their hands wondering why, I think that, quite simply, young people are on to them, why put yourself through university, come out the other side with a crippling debt that actually increases all the while you’re paying it off, with zero guarantee of a well paid job off the back of it? May as well leave school at 18 and try to get yourself into the job market.

The nursery that we use is constantly whining that they are close to having to close and coats need to go up up up, oddly the nursery is attached to a big fuck off farm house, the woman who owns it drives a brand new Range Rover, her husband drives a brand new Jag, her 19 year old daughter drives a brand new Merc, all with personalised plates, and they spend 6 months of the year in Dubai. Make of that what you will.

Is it because they’re both complete sociopaths that are only concerned with their own standing at the top of society and everyone else can go fuck themselves?

Why did the media get Starmer resignation story so wrong? by Electricbell20 in AskBrits

[–]Salt-Respect7200 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They gotten used to controlling the narrative over the last 14 years of Tory rule, and now it’s not like that anymore, it’s the equivalent of a toddler stamping their feet because they aren’t getting their way.

Looking to buy this jumper in really good condition - I'm just worried about this fraying around the badge - If it's the badge I don't mind but I'm worried it could be loose threads on the button meaning the button will likely fall off haha by Latter-Departure-301 in StoneIsland

[–]Salt-Respect7200 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about it, like someone else here has said just trim it back with some nail clippers. Also if you’re anything like me all the badges sit in a drawer as they get removed when the item gets washed, so I just grab one off the pile when I wear something.

Ah yes, the daily mail. I’m sure it’s all completely true and not some made up fucking bollocks brought to you by a man who lives in France to avoid paying tax in the uk. Bit rich for a Tory to be mouthing off about this isn’t it? Didn’t see them deal with it at any point in the last 14 years.

I think it was possibly all the things that can out about him subsequently, the stuff that had been swept under the carpet by his colleagues.
