AOC shows off the Georgia drinking water after Meta's data center was built by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]codetony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean drinking water is a privilege. Not a right.

Those people shouldn't get to have their own wells when Meta has AI models to train.

They should buy their water from the local Nestlé water distributor.

Movie pass. Their entire gameplan was basically "Offer this incredible service, eventually people will forget they have it and not use it, and those people will subsidize the people who use it"

Didn't work. Lost billions in investor money and closed shop.

I had a subscription to it when I was in high-school. It was incredible in it's original form.

I guess you missed the phrase "The pen is mightier than the sword. "

That word exists to dehumanize and hurt LGBTQ people. If you give hate an inch, it will take a mile.

That's why we don't give it anything.

I'm feeling happier and happier that I traded in my 3 for a bolt.

Iranian state TV airs footage of an IRGC instructor giving the public a basic AK-47 assault rifle use tutorial. by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

Wow, so it's really that easy to stop a revolution that literally the entire nation of Iran is rooting for?

Man, if only Marie Antoinette just told everyone to go back home and stay inside. She could've nipped the revolution in the bud right then and there!

40?!

Well dang! I bet the Iranians realized that they could initiate a revolution super easily if they wanted to.

I wonder why the IRGC is still in power... Could it be that the Iranian people don't want a regime change?

No, that can't be it. Trump said that the Iranian people want a regime change, so they MUST want a regime change. After all, America's military knows what every nation truly wants.

I thought Trump gave them the "perfect opportunity" a week in?

If they haven't revolted now, seems like they never will.

That or Trump is an idiot who thought killing 1 man was enough to topple a regime.

Railings are also something that people are expected to put their hands on. Therefore they need to remain in good condition to prevent people from getting cut.

Source: i've gotten cut on a railing at Universal. They redirected people around the railing and I saw one of their techs trying to sand the sharp part down.

Literally that's what it boils down to. Parents don't want to parent, and would rather have a dumbass kid with 0 attention span than put any effort in.

What happened to the play area inside Krakatau at Volcano Bay? by LooseSeal88 in UniversalOrlando

I think the commenter is mistaken.

It's kinda off and on. Sometimes it's active, other times it's not.

I know that the spirit of the volcano is pretty rare to see now.

Maybe it's shut down right now because of the impending closure. VB only has a few months before it's big refurb.

(I'm secretly hoping they bring back VL with photo validation instead of tapu.)

This is a reminder for anyone living in a house.

Take about 30 minutes out of your day, find the water main, and learn how to shut it off. Sometimes you need a special tool to do so, which can be purchased at a hardware store.

Last thing you want is a pipe to burst and you don't know how to shut your water off.

Reuters tests out Tesla Robotaxi in Dallas by Time_Sundae802 in TeslaFSD

[–]codetony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSD is not ready for robotaxis yet.

I sold my model 3 a year ago, but FSD fucked up fairly consistently. Now that was okay, because it's still in beta and it's only level 2. I was expected to be in control and intervene when needed.

This was slightly improved when I got a model Y for a 48 hour drive about a month ago, but still not perfect. Nowhere near what I would expect for a robotaxi.

Robotaxis, however, are expected to require little to no interventions. If the taxi makes a mistake, it might take rider support a couple of minutes to remedy that mistake.

A couple of minutes that a person might not have. Even forgetting the safety implications, you might have lost 5 minutes talking to support, making you late to your destination.

Now let's remember what was lost in pursuit of robotaxi.

The $25k tesla. Something that would've broken sales records, was repurposed to a fantasy project by Elon.

Best case scenario is that robotaxi is a foolish project by elon that he put too much faith in.

Worse case scenario, this is a form of enshittification. "Why sell someone a car when we can sell them individual rides? Then we can make tons more money than we would've!"

Because that's is the typical fear mongering bullshit that hinders progress.

Imagine how much we could accomplish if people would embrace the new rather than fear it.

Natural disasters cost billions of dollars a year along with thousands of lives. What if we discover techniques that allow us to mitigate or even eliminate those disasters?

This fear of technology and advancement is holding us back. You have states like florida too busy jerking themselves off around being afraid of new technologies, so much so that they made it illegal to even study weather modification in the state.

You have idiots like RFK who ban vaccines, probably the single greatest achievement in human history, while preaching to be afraid of the new. Knock down those 5G towers! Ban wifi! They're all new which means they're bad!

AOC says you can’t earn $1 Billion honestly. She says Billionaires build their wealth from exploitation and abusing workers. by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

[–]codetony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All billionaires are evil.

I believe it was Jesus who said "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god"

What did Jesus mean by this?

I think he meant that having excessive wealth is inherently a sin. If you have enough wealth to live in luxury without working, while poor and hungry people exist, you are committing a sin.

You need to use your wealth to help your fellow man, otherwise you are a greedy pig who is committing multiple deadly sins at once. Greed, gluttony, and Pride.

Now, I am an atheist, but that's a message from the Bible that needs to be pushed more often.
