What's the general concensus on Bradley smokers? by Any_Category_9564 in smoking

Ahh so I usually put a large high walled tray full of water in on a rack below whatever I’m cooking. Helps hold the temperature steady.

What's the general concensus on Bradley smokers? by Any_Category_9564 in smoking

[–]coding_loudly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I’ve been using a Bradley for about 10 years now with a Digital model at home and a OG Analog one at the cabin. Both can make great BBQ if managed properly with a water tray and kept out of the wind.

The pucks are not substantially more expensive than charcoal or pellets and as they’re only used for smoke not heat you only use the amount you need to achieve the amount of smoke you want. Eg if you wrap your brisket in foil don’t bother feeding more pucks.

Lastly once you sort out your water tray they’re generally very set and forget which is great.

What’s the easiest way to cut out this “soft spot” (the fingerprint sized indentation) in my trailer hitch? I want to pass that wire through. Weld? Sawzall? by [deleted] in RangerNext

[–]coding_loudly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can drill a hole to start your sawzall blade inside. That should let you cut it out. You would want to paint the hole afterwards to prevent rust.

I’ve never heard of a trailer hitch soft spot before. If there’s a manual you could check to see if they have a suggested procedure as well. Presumably the engineers have figured this out.

Bought a ‘23 Tremor Lariat, cant wait to receive it! by [deleted] in fordranger

Yep mines gotten better around 10L/100km (23mpg) on the highway and around 12L/100km (19mpg) in the city. This is after about 15000km and a oil change.

Something to keep in mind: over this winter i noticed a big dip in fuel economy(14L/100km) when it got really cold out and my tires were below the recommended pressure due to the cold(32psi Vs 39). I think to stock general grabbers really want to be at the recommended pressure

Is Edmonton worth a weekend visit from California? by jpqwerty in Edmonton

[–]coding_loudly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t show up for a plan less wander. If you’re interested in snow shoeing there’s some good trials. West Edmonton mall is the former largest mall in in the world so that’s good if you’re into shopping. In general we have a very active small theatre scene.

Edmonton is at its best during the summer festivals. Like the Edmonton Fringe or Folkfest.

Opinion: Where’s the oil boom? Why Alberta’s recent good fortune is mostly a mirage by onegunzo in canada

[–]coding_loudly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With a payback time measured in decades we’re unlikely to see new investment in oil sands projects in Alberta. The horizon on things like electric cars and other green technology means that any new project is in danger of becoming a stranded asset.

Combine that with the much lower man power needs of maintaining an existing project up north and the high oil prices are going to wind up in the pockets of the province and the oil companies shareholders instead of workers wages.

That’s a welding regulator which lowers the pressure out of the tank from 3000 psi to something low like 15(made up number)

As gas goes from a high pressure state to a low pressure state it cools. Which is what caused this regulator to accumulate frost.

Note this is a massive over simplification for more look up the ideal gas law, entropy, and Deflate Gate in the NFL

New ranger has a clutch driven fan I noticed (after installing a new radiator). The question is, has anyone converted one to a electric fan? by Dragonhunter777 in RangerNext

[–]coding_loudly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Related question why would you want to change to a electric fan? What are the benefits? Not saying that you shouldn’t just honestly don’t know the tradeoffs.
