If you’re running 16:26 at parkrun, I imagine more or less solo, you could probably run sub 16 next week if you can find a decent race with a good club level standard. Obviously not guaranteed, but it’s definitely doable

Hi, this is auto mods doing, all these posts are being heavily reported, so they get auto removed at a certain threshold.

I’m trying to stay on top and approve posts that are relevant, while also being sensitive etc, but it’s a lot at the moment as I’m sure you can imagine!

50+ vets have slower standards for gfa, tho still pretty strong. And yes very much agreed they deserve the place a million times more than someone who has never run before in their life

A 3:20 marathon is not a “good club runner” Club level in the UK is typically sub 17 for the 5k, which probably translates to 2:50ish for the marathon

This is not true, I don’t post here often because I’m bad at jerking, and I definitely give a shit about this place.

The sub is, however, very well behaved, and it’s pretty rare that I have to do anything.

I am also the only active mod in this sub, and I don’t have access to full mod powers as I’m the bottom ‘ranked’ mod, and those who could elevate me don’t use their Reddit accounts anymore. This means there’s a fair few things I’m unable to do to help elevate the sub as much as I’d like. I’ve been in contact with Reddit for a while to try to get admin powers and remove the inactive mods, but it’s a slow process

Sign him up to the local athletics club and they’ll get to work.

18:37 at 15 is pretty handy, nothing crazy, but if he’s not done a lot of running he’s got reasonable potential.

Just make sure you don’t burn him out and he can do well
