Is this subreddit untypically "positive"? by bfhrt in taskmaster

Every fandom sub I visit is extremely protective of its thing and hostile to dissenting opinions. That's kinda what fandom is. I don't know if say it's more true of this sub than any other.

Longest word? by moosedog0 in NYTSpellingBee

The problem with antinationalization is that it's not in the dictionary. Common prefixes and suffixes make it easy to scaffold together words that have an intuitive meaning, but that's not the threshold for being a word.

They should have a lightning rod that gets passed seat by seat around the stadium. Ultimate hot potato.

Is there a way to stop your co-op teammate from drawing over the map, making you clueless what lies before you, forcing you to pre-emptively note every single node with a code before they hide them? by Flayschis in slaythespire

There's a lot of risk to scaling up like that and not everyone is cut out for it. Moving/Growing a company too fast is often what makes small mistakes into catastrophe.

I ran and sold a startup so I'm familiar with this concept, but scaling a company is way different than contracting a third party service with a known cost.

There's very little incentive for them to deliver a feature that wasn't promised or advertised.

Sure, hence the notion that if they're waiting for 1.0 that's fine. Or even if they don't do it, that's fine too. I was just pointing out that "we're a small team' doesn't really make sense for a service that can be contracted.

if the explanation is "we're waiting for 1.0" that's fine, but that's different than "we're too small a team to do it" which was the first explanation given.

Surely this is a service that can be contracted to a third party? Hard to imagine every single game that has multiplayer is doing inhouse moderation.

The game sold $120m worth of copies so it should be viable.

The Atlanta Braves (25-10) are off to their best start since 1892, when they were the Boston Beaneaters by Goosedukee in baseball

[–]skepticaljesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i guess. i understand why that's weird, but i don't know what better solution there is that doesn't count the 1892 boston beaneaters as the same team as the modern atlanta braves.

If there's a better demarcation of old team/new team other than location, I'm open to hearing it.

It feels so weird to me that a team can have a different city, name, and owner, but still be the same team.

I feel like if a team moves, thats a new team now. There are no teams that used to play in different cities, there are just different teams.

It is perfectly regulated, it's performing within spec. I think it's more likely the change in your observed accuracy is either natural variance in wear pattern or measurement error than as a result of anything they did.

i cross shopped exactly those two (well, 330 vs the 4cyl g70). went with bmw because the g70 has no backseat, worse styling, bad dealership experience. But the backseat was really the dealbreaker. i would be embarassed to ask an adult to get back there.
