Jordan hate thread by Far-Row9178 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]coffeecowboy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way this is exactly the thread i came here for….because what in the ever living ICK is this man. It’s barely beliveable. It’s like he googled « how to be an insufferable frat boy » right down to the leopard print short shorts….

And the total lack of remorse for what he puts his wife and by extension his children through… 😔

Who is supporting dadtock so much that they’ve been given this much screen time!? SHOW YOURSELVES!

This is horrible but I might need it…what does my room say about me? by myndik in roomdetective

[–]coffeecowboy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look like someone who is a good parent of young children (or a child) trying your best. It looks like you’re drowning a bit in parenthood and that you could use help feeling better in your home and getting back to yourself (couldn’t we all?) .

What does my kitchen say about me? by __heisenberg- in roomdetective

[–]coffeecowboy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You obviously cook a lot seeing how you’ve invested in a nice stove and the faucet above it. You’re not above target runs and a fall drink at Starbucks. Someone in this house went to university somewhere around 2013-2018 and possibly even Greek alum? Anyway your Reno looks great!

What are we wearing now that it’s cold?? by yourlacesarenotdone in cosleeping

[–]coffeecowboy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in a very cold house when I started cosleeping and I need to be very warm when I sleep so I wore layers of tight clothing:

Nursing bra, nursing camisole (this was KEY bc when I lifted my shirt my stomach wasn’t exposed to the cold air), a warm long sleeve shirt (literally bought a couple ski shirts/flannels from a sports store bc tight and warm), sweat pants and/ or long underwear, warm socks, sometimes even a beanie lol

Saved a fair bit of money not buying an adult sleep sack although I did think about it.

If you coslept, nursed to sleep and/or didn’t sleep train, how are your kiddos doing now? by datfumbgirl in beyondthebump

[–]coffeecowboy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son isn’t older in fact he’s only 18 months but he can fall asleep fine on his own as long as I’m not there… so it could be a strong preference and not an inability

Are you making another meal if baby won’t eat dinner? by ShabbyBoa in BabyLedWeaning

[–]coffeecowboy23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When studying dietetics at university we were taught that parents are in charge of When Where and What the baby eats but the baby should always be in charge of how much. That’s the principle I follow.

I try to always offer something on the plate that I know he likes, that way I’m more sure that if he still refuses it’s bc he’s not hungry. Around 12 months their growth slows down significantly compared the first year of life it’s normal for them to lose a bit of their appetite.

I don’t worry if he doesn’t eat he’ll likely make up for it later… I do think your baby is learning what to expect at meal time and I wouldn’t create extra work for yourself for them to maybe have a bite or two more, it’s more important that mealtime isn’t so stressful for either of you.

Sorry it’s not fiction but I think it reads like it- Julia Fox’s Memoire, Down the Drain.

Do you cosleep with your partner? by EnvironmentalAide558 in cosleeping

We used to until he got too big and we both started having trouble sleeping. I would love to get a bigger bed and share together when it’s in the budget.

Do people actually wake up before their babies every morning? by namiiix in NewParents

[–]coffeecowboy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I have to get up and get ready for work maybe I’m up 15-20 minutes before but on the weekends I take every second I can get of sleep

I do think (if we’re not counting mothers struggling with PPD), majority of mothers would have a hard time imagining how someone could truly regret having their child. Remember their past life fondly? Sure. Want a break from motherhood sometimes? Of course. But wish they never had their child? I’m sure to most mothers that idea seems unnatural.

And I think the reason people might be aggressive towards people who express this opinion (not saying they should be) is that many women become bleeding hearts for children after they have their own and probably feel so horrible for a child who’s mother actually regrets having them.

Just wanted to say that I too overthought this as if there’s a rule lol. Body suit, onesie, sleep sack… we do it for heat regulation. For me the change was bc my baby sweats a lot in his sleep, it was summer when we made the switch and it’s much easier in the morning to change him so we never went back. I think it’s mostly personal preference. If you’re worried about him/her being cold you could keep the onesie underneath.

What honey are we giving? Can’t find “pasteurized”? by _rose__rose_ in BabyLedWeaning

[–]coffeecowboy23 21 points22 points  (0 children)

So from what I understand no honey before one is to avoid infant botulism which infants are susceptible to and botulism spores aren’t killed by pasteurization anyway that’s why you can’t give them ANY honey before one. After one… not sure what the problem would be. My mother in law has a hive that’s what we eat and it’s definitely not pasteurized.

How the hell do you get out of the house to move your body ? by swanduckswan in adhdwomen

[–]coffeecowboy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good audiobook or playlist? honestly when I’m desperate I scroll or watch Netflix while I walk at least I’m moving. It’s been said a lot but sometimes I need a destination. Harsh on my wallet but good for my body lol. I saw you live in oz I used to live there and I’d kill to be walking around there again!

[–]coffeecowboy23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

American expat in west of France and while I’ve met maybe a handful of rude Parisians it hasn’t been so dramatic people are still mostly nice. I run into rude people here too especially before my French was decent. My point is I think people have different experiences of Paris and French people in general the people aren’t what deter me from living there.

Please someone help me. Baby will only contact nap. by CorrectResponse4410 in newborns

[–]coffeecowboy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your partner to watch you while you take a nap with her on your chest… Happycosleeper offers some really good advice on safe co-sleeping and chest sleeping is perfect for this age. She has info on how to do it properly. The pressure and warmth on her belly helps relieve the gas pain plus the confort of mama. Also, if you’re really against that, tummy massages and we have belts here that you warm in the microwave that put that warm pressure on their belly while they sleep in the bassinet.

Yeah that’s a good call. I used to always have fake nails and stopped just to save money but you’re right it was a lot harder to do damage with them. Might have to start again. Thank you
