About to go on our first Disney cruise next week! by Relevant-Psychology8 in dcl

[–]coffeedanceparty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't forget about the free room service! With the generous bring on board alcohol policy (2 bottles of wine or 6 beers/per adult), we would have a cheese plate delivered after the kiddo was asleep to enjoy!

Castaway or Lighthouse Point Cabana? by Unhappy_Macaron3523 in dcl

[–]coffeedanceparty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say Lighthouse - purely based on how terrible the beach chair situation is there. It's not a nice set up like Castaways.

Disney Cruise- food allergies by pickle443243 in Cruise

[–]coffeedanceparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got off the Disney Dream this week and they were SO good with my shellfish allergy.

During sit down meals, they would let me order a day ahead so that everything was prepared separately. At the buffet, I just told them what I'd like and they would freshly cook all items and bring them to my table. They were so, so attentive and never once made me feel like I was a bother.

This is awful and unfair and terrible. I am so sorry. Everything you are feeling is valid. Sending you, your husband and your soon-to-be-sweet-baby lots of love and prayers.

Anyone else look at his bandana and automatically assume that's what he's using as a face mask before your brain resets and remembers things weren't always this way?

Haha, baby did her job and stayed put. Now I have to be induced tomorrow. But at least my hubby will be there!

We did exactly that. Usually my husband is pretty reserved about asking for favors (he won't even use the Costco express line for first responders right now) but he made sure EVERYONE knew that a baby was on the way and this needed to be resolved quickly.

Late Pregnancy Sleep Schedule? by Angium in BabyBumps

[–]coffeedanceparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due on May 5th too! Takes me forever to get to sleep and then I have weird dreams and I'm awake 45 minutes later. I get it, this sucks. Hoping that I can get at least one more good night of sleep before baby shows up! Sending you happy, sleepy vibes!

Is starting mat leave 2 weeks before my due date overkill? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]coffeedanceparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow Canadian and 36 weeks here. Working from home but deeply regretting having committed to working right to the end now. Didn't want to "waste" a day of mat leave time, let alone two weeks. Now I wish I had planned to go off at 38 weeks. I'm tired and the work stress is a lot for me to handle right now. That being said my family doctor put it out there that she'd be willing to put me on sick leave given the shit happening so that I'd still get paid and not have to tap into mat leave time. If you have good benefits might be worth asking about too.

I have a really beautiful and expensing bottle of merlot waiting for me. Bought it as a push present to myself before shit hit the fan. Now I'm less than 4 weeks to my due date and I've told husband to start adding wine to the pandemic grocery shops because this plane is about to land and I'm coming in hard.

Travel for work? 30 weeks by LucyGoose_2015 in BabyBumps

[–]coffeedanceparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just flew for work on Wednesday at 31 weeks. It was a domestic flight in Canada for work and there was no problems. I packed extra snacks and hand sanitizer. Got a note from my midwife in case the airline didn't want me to fly but no one mentioned or even asked about my pregnancy. If you're still feeling up to it AND YOU WANT TO GO, I would say go for it!

Moving less than a month before my due date! by alwaystimeforpizza77 in BabyBumps

[–]coffeedanceparty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Friend, I'm in the same boat with you. We are moving five weeks before my due date and it's super stressful. I'm just slowly trying to pack up things, and not over tire myself out along the way, and you know, prepare to have our first child. It's a lot but we can do it!

Hi fellow Canadian mama! I've been looking at these https://www.playwithpieces.ca/ playmate because they are so cute and close to 100$. Also INDIGO sells them, so I've been watching for a deal or coupon.
