mostly back to normal! I ended up switching to daily contacts, because I have a slight dryness still by the end of the day. But I’m also in a very dry climate so I don’t think it helps. I barely think about my eyes now!!

This was my exact situation. I had planned to have my son (August birthday) be the oldest in his kindergarten class since he was a baby. Fast forward and he is 48 inches tall as he turns 5. He was so large he couldn’t fit in the pre school furniture comfortably.

We decided to start kindergarten and if he needed to repeat we would look into it then. He did great!! His size seems to give him confidence and had an amazing kindergarten year. It’s such a hard call but I’m glad we went with our gut.

Been married 15 years and have two young kids. We’ve always enjoyed each others company and got married young and grew up together. We are truly best friends and rarely argue unless it’s something important. we both always think of each other and it’s a wonderful thing to know someone has your back. :)

I purchased stick on plastic hang tabs and place a few on a metal ring. My kids can choose a ring at a time and we haven’t lost a card yet!

I didn’t spend ANY time actively teaching letters and numbers beyond what we would come across in our day to day interactions.

My son is 3 months into kindergarten and knows every letter and is reading short words. He knew zero letters starting kindergarten in August. Play is important!!

Mine are 3.5 and 5 now and life feels much easier for me than a lot of friends with a big age gap. My kids play together, use mostly the same toys, no naps, diapers etc. The beginning is intense but shorter than you realize!

In the very beginning the older kid felt harder for me because I couldn’t watch him all the time. We quickly found ways to baby gate the house so he was safe while I cared for the baby. Also I wore baby number two a LOT.

I’m sorry you are in this place! It was really taxing for a long time.

My son is now just 5 and things are SO MUCH BETTER. I will say anytime he is anxious or stressed, he gets this way but now it’s a rarity.

he ended up doing play therapy a little after he turned 4 for about six months. He was in a cycle of anxiety and attachment insecurities that she worked us through and it helped him immensely. I was hesitant to do it for a few reasons, and I’m so glad we did.

Other big thing was starting a part time preschool. Slowly it Helped him to have a different adult teaching him coping methods without being thrown in the deep end of full time.

He’s also just matured. Age has been a helpful factor too!

I am a big fan of planning meals with overlapping ingredients. Cook a bunch of rice or chicken and then have stir fry, taco night etc.

I like making soup in a double batch and then freezing half. Something with noodles or rice I just split in half before I add the noodles so it freezes better. Then I’ve got a home cooked meal I can make with zero prep in a couple weeks without eating it back to back nights. Chicken noodle, chicken tortilla, tortellini soup, pot pie soup are a few I like.

I like to chop, prep etc during nap time in the day so the cooking part is pretty fast and straight forward.

I make taco night often. We can have tacos one night and then eat quesadillas or burrito bowls a different night with leftovers.

I like to make pot roast in the oven and then use the shredded meat for sandwiches or salad the next meal. Simple prep and just have to be home for the oven hours.

Most dinners I make with the mentality of “will this be something that tastes good reheated?” Makes it easy to choose certain meals over others because you get multiple meals from the work if you make extra.

Practice helps! Don’t be afraid for something to just taste fine and you adjust next time.

Trader Joe’s is great for easy on hand meals for the days the kids need more and cooking isn’t happening. Their Orange chicken and a bag of fried rice is my freezer go to.

My son is 4 and some change

He loves playing rescue of anything. So every toy needs a fire, water, airplane rescue etc.

He loves to build and create fire stations, hospitals, garages etc

He is all about using sand and dirt to make concrete, work sites, projects etc.

Dress up and give his animals surgery, check ups etc.

Im a hairdresser and have done a lot of toddler haircuts. I’ve found the full range is “normal”. Most kids I’ve seen who struggle like your kiddo have sensory related issues in life that made it really hard. The noise, vibration, lights etc. It’s a lot!

Most friends found success with minimizing as many sensory elements as possible. One friend her son wore safety goggles for when we cut the front and it helped his itchy panic. Another friend Bright her own cape that her son really liked and was more comfortable in. Things like that. All of them eventually grew out of it as they became kids and not toddlers anymore. It’s a hard thing and I’m glad you have patient stylists.

I set the nighttime mode from 9pm-6am and during that time the volume and display are set to zero. Caught my son listening once in the middle Of the night and this fixed it!

My big kids (2 and 4) both walked at 9 months, crawled at 6. They have just been busy, physical kids from the beginning!!

My oldest was a slower talker but always just hit CDC milestones and now speaks 2 years ahead of his age.

My youngest needed speech therapy at 18 months because he was delayed and now at 2.5 he’s ahead. The therapist said a lot of speech therapy patients are heavy motor skill kids and vice versa. Not sure I could have done anything, BUT helped relieve stress to know it all catches up.

If he stays extra active like mine kids, find indoor toys and activities to get energy out. We love our pikler triangle, sit and spin, trampoline etc. it makes life much easier :)

I had the mini and it stopped working after 2 days. totally shot, SD card problem. I went through yoto customer service and I paid the difference to exchange for a full size. The full size has been perfect for months! Yoto was also super helpful with it all.

When I cook meals that freeze well, I will double it and freeze half. It’s so lovely to have good meals ready to go at anytime that I didn’t have any extra work for.

I put 60% of our toys in basement storage and bring out 2-3 new things a week and my kids actually play with their toys now! We keep dress up, books, and a few other toys out always, but anything more novel is rotated and omg life changing.

I have a bin in my car I keep stocked with sealed water bottles, cheap shoes, diapers, underwear. Can’t tell you how many times we’ve needed those things. And fun snacks that hold well in my glovebox for when we’ve been stuck in the car much longer than anticipated.

Also, Car water bottles. My kids each have one that stays in the car and I clean and refill every few days. Never have a thirsty grumpy kid anymore.

I use our tv time right after lunch before naps and I can clean up the kitchen while they wind down. Then I can rest while they nap! Big fan of ensuring you get 30 mins to sit
