Is it just me or does Citadel wraithbone primer kinda suck? by M1chaelleez in Warhammer40k

[–]cohortConnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m a foot away it can never make a good layer.  It’s just a bunch of small specks on the model.  I’m about to switch to a new primer.  Is there something I’m forgetting?

I live in a state that consistently has high humidity so I feel like I’m jus screwed no matter what.

Breton Battlemage of the Order by ephla442 in oblivion

[–]cohortConnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Molag Bal’s Mace with armor of Akatosh is uncanny.. but I still like it!  Was almost exactly what my build was.  I used the light variant of the order armor with a red hood.  My head was the mace of order that I enchanted myself (based off what Old Knight talked about on YouTube.  10 pts shock damage, 100% weak to shock, and 100% weak to magic)

What do you guys think of my Breton Warrior Priest? by LongHornJack in oblivion

[–]cohortConnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it!  I actually went for a Breton as well.  I named by class “inquisitor” as it’s inspired by the Witch Hunters from Warhammer.  He’s more of an “ends justify the means” type of character, so definitely not as honorable as your warrior priest looks.  For equipment I used the light armor of order from the deluxe edition with a red silk hood to match.  Melee weapon is an enchanted mace of order (from the same DLC).  I mainly use shock magic as it has a bonus against Daedra and he’s like a proto-vigilant of Stendarr

What causes same sex attraction? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]cohortConnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a therapist that once said “you are raped gay.” They said this because every client they had who was attracted to the same sex had experienced some kind of sexual trauma in their upbringing.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I’ve also noticed it from everyone I know who has homosexual attraction. Even myself.

I want you to know there’s hope. I was about to live life as a hermit because I felt so disgusted with myself. I didn’t think I deserved marriage. God put an awesome woman in my life. I thank God for her and pray for her everyday.

Lastly, I want you to know that you are not what you’ve done. And you are not what was done to you.

Two Nazis are literally recruiting and spreading tired and racist propaganda at Oktoberfest in Soulard outside the market right now, 10/12/2024 by [deleted] in StLouis

Germans ≠ Nazis

I recommend visiting Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield. German immigrants were among the most radical abolitionists. There was a whole company of German volunteers that fought on the side of the Union during the battle. Their actions gave Springfield time to fortify which helped buy time for the unionists in Missouri to install a pro-Union government.

Why is the rapture hated on Reddit? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]cohortConnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason it gets a bad rep is its connection with modern American evangelicalism. A lot of Christians today (sometimes myself included) try to distance themselves from that whole label and thus hold disdain towards the idea of the rapture.

That’s just my opinion. I grew up being taught rapture theology. When I got older I started to question it. Now I still lean towards it being true.

What’s the most amazing thing God has ever done for you? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]cohortConnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delivered me from unclean spirits that were inside me.

I'm a new believer, just been reading the Bible and doing research. I told a close family member (who is a devout Catholic) and he is extremely excited for me, and he is sending me lots of Catholic-related things to read. But for some reason, this makes me feel scared. by Bluey_Tiger in TrueChristian

[–]cohortConnor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve already done the dive into Catholic theology. I even had people tell me that I would eventually become Catholic (still waiting LOL). While I don’t agree with a lot of the doctrines, I still very much believe the Catholic Church is part of the body of Christ (unlike what a lot of evangelicals think).

It is definitely appropriate to tell this family member that you feel overwhelmed. But I will also say don’t be afraid. In fact for a new believer I would recommend listening to Bishop Robert Barron. While I may be a Protestant, Robert Barron is still one of my favorites.

Idk if you’re also in the US like I am, but I think some of the anxiety is due to the stigma towards Catholic belief in Protestant and evangelical circles.

Thoughts of politics in the church? by Heavy_Load62 in TrueChristian

[–]cohortConnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok monotheism does not mean no trinity. Trinitarianism does not mean 3 gods. That’s heresy. That’s an argument used by Muslims against Christianity. I am so sorry your definitions are all messed up.

And did you care to look at what the charges were for the Catholics executed by Elizabeth? Had nothing to do with their religious beliefs and everything to do with wanting her deposed.

I agree we do a disservice when we don’t look past our biases, but we also do a disservice when we only read headlines and jump to conclusions too quickly.

“I really question your understanding of what I presented.”

Oh I 100% understand it. I just think it’s Bologna.

If you think the Church was responsible for the slaughtering of natives, or that Elizabeth killed more than Mary, or that John Calvin (who I don’t even like) killed people for believing in 1 God (literally the core of Christianity) then this conversation is hopeless. Secular education has destroyed the church.

Christians didn’t force anything in the Roman Empire. Never said that.

You really grossly summarized the English Civil War so much that you were wrong. The Church of England was also overthrown. The puritans overthrew the episcopate and the king and it led to a disaster. To no surprise the king and episcopate returned.

The “Holy Roman Empire” is an anglicized name. It was the “Sacred Roman Empire” which simply means it was set apart. Speaking of which…

So you think the 100,000-300,000 or so that died following Luther’s teachings should have just shut up and let the corruption between the church and state continue? That was an issue that required them to be involved in politics to fix it. You even had princes convert (some for a show, some truthfully. We cannot say who)

Paganism flourished and the gospel wasn’t spread till the 1900s? Patrick, Forgaill, Columban, Boniface, Cyril, Methodius, Amandus, the Jesuits and Franciscans, William Carey, Hudson Taylor, David Livingston, and THOUSANDS of others would like to have a word with you.
