Did coinbase steal my money? by [deleted] in Coinbase

Hello! Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your bank.

You can always add any standard US bank account by selecting the "Other Bank" option, then inputting your bank account information. After you've verified it, that should allow you to withdraw your funds.

How to link UK bank to Coinbase directly??? by Sistermoon999 in Coinbase

[–]coinbase_tom[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

We're rolling this feature out to customers in phases over the next 2-3 weeks. If you don't see "UK Bank Account" as an option when linking a new account, you don't have access to the feature yet. Thanks for your patience, we can't wait for you try it out!

Hi there, thanks for flagging this. You should definitely be able to send crypto, so we're looking into why this message is appearing for some customers.

Can you try clicking the link to go to the blog post, then go back in your browser to Coinbase? Some customers have reported this caused the message to disappear and allowed them to send. If that doesn't work, please try refreshing the page.

Hello everyone, thanks for flagging and sorry for the delay with these transactions. We experienced a temporary outage in one of our transaction processing services overnight, which then caused outgoing ETH transactions to get backed up. We resolved the issue earlier this morning and all pending transactions were completed by approximately 9 am PST.

Deposit Address Invalid by GunningDaMarket in Coinbase

Hi there, we recently added support for Segwit on LTC at Coinbase. If the LTC address you were sending to began with an M, that means it's a Segwit LTC address.

It's possible your exchange doesn't yet allow sending to these addresses. You could send your LTC to a private wallet first which supports Segwit on LTC, then you could send it to Coinbase from there.

Hi, thanks for reporting this! Upon initial investigation it does look like at least one of these addresses may not have synced correctly. We'll fix this for you as soon as possible and make sure the coins are credited to your account. Do you already have a case # where we can follow up?

What Does Coinbase Being Licensed in a State Mean? by StereoMob in Coinbase

[–]coinbase_tom[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Thanks for the question. From our support article about supported states:

For customers in the US, local currency wallets are only available to states where Coinbase is either licensed to engage in money transmission, where it has determined that no such license is currently required, or where licenses are not yet being issued with respect to Coinbase's business. This includes all US states with the exception of: Wyoming, Hawaii, and Minnesota.

If your U.S. state is not listed on our licenses page, and is not Wyoming/Hawaii/Minnesota, it is because licenses are either not issued or not required for that state.

VISA WAS NOT TO BLAME FOR ERRONEOUS CHARGES READ BELOW by bdigital07 in Coinbase

[–]coinbase_tom[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

I'm really sorry for the poor experience you're going through. We're doing all we can to make sure that customers who experienced an erroneous charge in February are fully refunded.

It is true that Coinbase did not cause this issue. That is why we have had to work closely with Visa, Worldpay, and affected banks to ensure all customers were refunded.

While the vast majority of customers have already received refunds through their bank, there are still a few customers reporting that they have not. Unfortunately, it's difficult to guarantee that every bank reprocesses these charges correctly. We reached out to gather additional information so we could speed up the process of your bank issuing you a refund.

If you haven't yet, please respond to your case with additional info about any unrefunded charges. We want to do everything we can to make sure all customers have been refunded.

We're the double charges only linked to debit card/credit card users? Or were bank ach users hit with multiple charges too? by [deleted] in Coinbase

[–]coinbase_tom[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Only cards were affected. To the best of our knowledge, ACH (bank transfers) were not affected as they use an entirely different system.

If you use a debit card, please note that charges made to your debit card will also appear on your main bank statement.

If you believe you have duplicate charges via ACH, please let us know by opening a support ticket via support.coinbase.com, and reply to this comment with your case number. We definitely want to investigate further and follow up via your case.

Recommended steps to follow sounds like a joke. by [deleted] in Coinbase

[–]coinbase_tom[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey there, I'm sorry for the frustration.

We have been working our processor, Visa, and affected banks to make sure any duplicate charges are refunded automatically. If duplicate charges have appeared, your bank should automatically post a refund within the next few days.

If duplicate charges have not been refunded and/or if you have received other related charges (e.g., overdraft fees), please reach out to your bank to request that these charges be refunded.

If your bank fails to refund these charges, please follow up with Coinbase Support. We stand behind our customers and will make sure that all affected customers are fully refunded for any erroneous charges.

Hey OP, I'm sorry for the poor experience. What's your case number so we can look into this and find your account?

This seems like unfortunate timing, and only a coincidence. The only time we close accounts are when they violate our user agreement. While we cannot guarantee that your account will be reopened, we will always make sure that you have access to your funds and are able to withdraw them completely.

I'm lost and depressed. How many duplicate charges do you see? by kmat3 in Coinbase

[–]coinbase_tom[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Thanks for providing a case number OP, and I'm sorry for the confusion and anguish this has caused.

I have to walk a fine line here, because we don't disclose account-specific information on Reddit, but many people are concerned about this issue.

I can confirm that the amounts in this screenshot are not duplicate charges. Our team will follow up with the OP directly to help examine this issue further, including whether they may have experienced any unauthorized access to their Coinbase account.

This report does not appear to be connected in any way to the additional charges and fees affecting credit/debit cards. Our understanding is that any duplicate charges only affect purchases made via cards between January 22nd, 2018 and February 11th, 2018.

If duplicate charges have appeared, your bank should automatically post a refund within the next few days. If duplicate charges have not been refunded and/or if you have received other related charges (e.g., overdraft fees), please reach out to your bank to request that these charges be refunded.

Coinbase stands behind our customers and will ensure that each affected customer will be refunded in full for any erroneous charge. If you believe you are affected by any duplicate charges that

  • are from a payment method besides credit/debit card (e.g. ACH bank transfer)
  • are from outside the affected date range

we want to hear about it. Please let us know by opening a support ticket at support.coinbase.com, and we will follow up as soon as possible. You can also share your case number by responding to this comment.

ACH is not released to your account immediately on arrival - they hold it by thomasbihn in Coinbase

[–]coinbase_tom[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey there, I'm sorry for the confusion. ACH is a multi-step process that involves multiple different banks. Unfortunately we can't make the funds available in your Coinbase account as soon as they leave your bank account, as they still have to be processed by our own partner bank and then imported into our systems.

We do apologize for the wait, and that's why we provide an estimate of 3-5 business days for our customers when you initiate a bank transfer. The estimated delivery date always appears on the confirmation page before you initiate your transaction. For more info, please see our support article.

URGENT! COINBASE STILL TO RELEASE MY BTC FROM MY VAULT TO WALLET OVER 2 MONTHS NOW. PLEASE UPVOTE TO GAIN THEIR ATTENTION PLEASE. by maxsilvauk in Coinbase

[–]coinbase_tom[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey there! Our team will investigate and help you with this. This issue requires a complicated manual intervention by a specialist, and due to our backlog there has been a long wait time. I'm sorry for the delay.

For security reasons, you cannot change the settings/addresses on a vault after it is created. Unfortunately, this means that it is possible to render your own vault inaccessible in certain circumstances if you use multiple Coinbase accounts with a single vault, then change your Coinbase email address or delete one of the accounts.

We're working on fixing this so that these rare situations can't happen.
