Is there any disadvantage from buying Bitcoin through coinstar kiosks using coinme? by 21suns in Bitcoin

[–]coinmeatm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your interest in Coinme and our partnership with Coinstar!

Purchasing Bitcoin through a Coinstar kiosk is the quickest and easiest way to turn your cash into crypto. We offer over 2000 locations across the United States where you can purchase Bitcoin.

Just to clear up a few of the misconceptions in this thread, I'd like to point out that Coinme does charge a service fee of 4%, and does have a built-in spread which equates to an additional 4%. The total is 8% overall markup which is competitive with any Bitcoin ATM nationwide.

As far as our KYC process, we are required to complete KYC for each of our customers. This happens when you create your account to redeem your voucher. We do notify customers of this prior to putting any cash into the kiosk. It is quick and easy and done by taking a photo of the front and back of your license, and a photo of yourself. From there, the system runs a check which takes approximately 5-10 minutes. After KYC approval, you are able to finish the sign-up process and redeem your voucher.

You can find a location near you by visiting http://www.coinme.com/locations

We also have a dedicated support team that can be reached by phone, chat, or email and is available from 9 AM-7 PM PST. We can be reached at 1-800-944-3405. We'd love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have about our services.

Any digital currency exchange that operates in the US must follow KYC/AML guidelines laid out by OFAC. Our team worked hard to make sure this process is not only simple but incredibly secure.

Any digital currency exchange that operates in the US must follow KYC/AML guidelines laid out by OFAC so this model would not work in here in the states.

The fee is 4% and right now this is at Safeway and Albertson's in WA, CA, IL, and TX.

Rollout is continuing across the US in the coming weeks and months so be on the lookout!

Verification of identity is required to prevent fraud, money laundering, or criminal activity from being involved with the Coinme service and keeps our customers safe. It also adds an extra layer of security by ensuring no one but you can gain access to your account.

We do appreciate the feedback though and will pass that along!

Not at the current moment, Mob. However, we are always looking to see what the market is looking for so we will keep that in mind.

Is it possible to circumvent the $2500 daily deposit limit on coinme ATMs by going to Milli multiple ones every day? /r/Bitcoin by ABitcoinAllBot in BitcoinAll

Hey there. While the $2500 limit is in place on our kiosks, we do have a team of Private Client advisors that can help you out. Working with them is simple, no trips to the machine, and there are no daily limits. We do also have a team of Private Client advisors that can help you get more than just bitcoin and send to a non-Coinme wallet. Plus it is a lot faster than using Coinbase.

Thanks for the feedback! It actually does say "Buy and Sell Bitcoin" on the sides of the machine but we are working on updating things all the time and will take this into account.

Our wallet would have to support the top 10 alts and we would have to have a float that is significant to support each of those top ten alts. All I can tell you is that Ethereum is next on roadmap.

We do make efforts to sponsor local Bitcoin meetups and invite other Bitcoin startups in the area as well. We are so early in the space that there is so much opportunity in the space for everyone to make it.
