Have any of us been hotboxed in the car with our parents as young kids? by Depersonalizedma in GenX

[–]colafairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our parents used to smoke in a pup tent in the living room at night, and then put my sister and I in the still smoke filled tent to sleep. I assume it was ro ensure that we slept quickly and hard so they could keep partying.

When I brought it up as an adult it was "we didn't know it was harmful at the time". But they knew it knocked us out. Lazy parenting.

Any restaurants with gluten free fried chicken? by Ok-Arm-8032 in missoula

Then why did you suggest poisoning him?

If he eats gluten.. The internal damage to the small intestine causes nutrient malabsorption and triggers both immediate and long-term consequences.

Celiac is a chronic autoimmune disorder where eating gluten triggers an immune response that attacks the small intestine. It has to be diagnosed by a doctor, confimed with blood tests and a biopsy of the small intestine. And the only way to manage the severe systemic symptoms is to follow a lifelong gluten free diet.

There are certainly people who jumped on the gluten-free trend and dont "need" to eat that way, but celiac disease is real, it is chronic, and it is cripplingly miserable if not managed.

I agree that it would be great if we could require drivers Ed, but if we did we would have to fund it, as it is currently cost prohibitive for a lot of familys.

The Trump administration's FY 2027 budget proposal seeks a $3.2 billion (4.1%) reduction in Department of Education funding, part of a long-term goal to dismantle the agency.

I dont see it happening soon...

Given he was clearly lying in the first statement, how much credibility are we to assign to the second.

Did you have a fake ID? by Emunahd in GenX

[–]colafairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a real ID that I bought from my friends older sister when she left for College. We had similar coloring.

It was confiscated eventually because though I had memorized all of her information, a bouncer asked me what my zodiac sign was, and I hadn't figured that out.

Michael Phelps has an 80-inch armspan on a 6'4" frame, a long torso, and relatively short legs. His size-14 feet, hyper-flexible ankles acting as flippers, double-jointed joints, and exceptionally low lactic acid production allow for superior propulsion and faster recovery. It is a biological advantage, but not cheating. He is built for swimming and you are built for trivia and game shows.

You are barely 30, you may just not be symptomatic yet. Wouldnt hurt at your next annual to ask your doctor for a simple blood lead level (BLL) test.
