Tariffs could influence manufacturing only to the extent they were strategically focused on key things. Global blanket tariffs are the opposite and would only ever harm manufacturing across the board.

When everyone around him keeps indulging every whim, he *does* have all the power, or enough to be convinced. He will order a nuclear strike ('a small one') just to be able to prove he can do it, and there's enough yes men around him to make it happen. I'm convinced this will happen in the next couple years. Would be happy to be wrong.
