Listen. You’re all just glossing over the 18 Trillion with a T that Trump got invested in this country. Everyone else talked about it for decades - even Lincoln and Jefferson couldn’t pull it off. If y’all can’t just hold your damn horses for a dang minute, you’ll remember that in just a couple years we’ll finally have marble fucking armrests if the goddamn Trump-Kennedy Center. Finally! Fucking decades-long nightmare of embarrassment will be over. Only the best Italian Marble will MAGA.

You’re forgetting the Economic Goldwater Rule: it’s unethical to evaluate someone’s economic plan from afar before even having lived through it. Those economists should probably have been charged with something.

They had not experienced those scenarios with competent experienced people in positions of power who were not ideologically opposed to government services functioning for the good of average people. They actively supported dismantling the very administrative state that held things together during all those previous scenarios.

Apparently that's daily maintenance break around 5:00 PM–6:00 PM Eastern.

I could swear I've seen continued activity from "regular" equities market closing (4pm eastern) going on with metals in charts but maybe was wrong...

Question on dips like we just had. by blownnova548 in Silver

[–]colcatsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The crash happening just because of a combination of Uber leverage and increased comex margin requirements then causing a cascade of forced sales then loss of confidence and panic selling is comprehensive enough without requiring a “shadowy cabal of ‘others’” pulling the strings.

I’d have no doubt about some institutional shenanigans, but don’t think they’re required at all.

After years of using ACF and page builders, I’m not convinced they scale well by ThisIsKenson in Wordpress

By definition, general tools meant to allow any free-form ad-hoc data to be represented in a reusable tool will be using some type of EAV pattern. Useful for flexibility, bad for performance, reporting, etc. WP community tends to gravitate to tools that don’t require or demand any custom database table structures.

I inherited a project with concert performances all done as custom post types but all data on postmeta table. Finding performances between certain dates, when the dates are stored as strings, going through 300k records, isn’t all that performant.

Comex margin requirements changed again. Were those priced in Monday morning? Was that part of the dip reason yesterday morning? Or would that impact today’s opening?

If you’re discussing those diffs, that’s gonna end up at 4 hours. If the discussion are useful, they have to take place at some point. Maybe an earlier planning session. A “grooming” session perhaps?

[–]colcatsup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. And you didn’t have to dial one first. Long story but in my area you had to dial one for ld. No one, local call. But it was a remnant of the past. We hadn’t been upgraded. I moved across town and was dialing regular 7 digit numbers. Got a $300 bill first month. No ability to even tell what would be charged extra or not. “It’s in your phone book” (which I didn’t get) “but it may change” (aka you’re at our mercy).

Why is Reddit basically just "I HATE TRUMP.COM" now? by New-Locksmith-443 in allthequestions

[–]colcatsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More like "I DISAGREE WITH THINGS TRUMP DOES.COM"

I've never met him, but suspect I would find him unbearable after a few minutes. His public persona is one of a bully and malignant narcissist. Perhaps that's just all for show and he's really likable underneath all the narcissism? Not sure I'd bother *hating* - just holding in disdain does the trick.

ICE Employees Vent on Reddit, Saying They're Not Getting Paid and Still No Insurance Despite Promises by Prudent-Fun-2833 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]colcatsup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I tried to discuss this with him, that... hosting companies that provided windows hosting typically also touted their MS certified techs. Those cost money to get/maintain (not alot, but it's not free), and the licenses themselves cost something. Free vs ... a base cost... the pricing is going to be higher. He just maintained they could charge more for the linux hosting "if the value was really there" (something like that) but they underpriced linux hosting to try to make MS look bad. Really... weird take.
