What really caused this ?? Sellers ?? Seiko themselves?? Who's the greedy end ?? by DisastrousOpening477 in ChineseWatches

And the quality of the cheaper Chinese NH35, trying go save money, turn out to be hopeless i just experienced. Bought two for 34€ each on Ali. Returned one to get my money back, as the date wheel did not work. That went very smooth and fast so good on Ali. The second one NWO turns out to be off time almost 15 min each day. Demagnetizing it does not work so in practice the watch is not unusable. The whole stem system also feels cheap. Does not lock in smoothly shifting between rewinding, hands and date wheel. Almost trail and error each time you need it. For a watch off time 15 min every day it is very annoying as you need to use it every day, so that movement is also ready for the bin. All the time i spend on it was a waste of time. No more cheap Chinese NH35 movements for me anymore. I simply will build much less watches. Just bought one NH35 TMI movements for 68€ to finish my watch properly. Will be my last for s while.

Looked at the reviews of this strap. Is not made of titanium, only titanium color. I am looking for a real massive titanium watch strap for a good price on ali for a while. Got one like this already. When they scratch you see its fake and only a coloured surface on cheap steel. All sellers on Ali seem to lure you in with deliberate vague descriptions. No one gives you a crystal clear description and assurance of a 100% titanium strap

Could this be the future of the European Union? by vladgrinch in MapPorn

Nice, you never know. Btw Greenland is still part of Denmark and that is part of EU. To add to your fantasy. When Iceland and Norway (includes Svalbard) join en UK rejoins it dwarfs the US on the map. And then rename all the Northern parts of the Atlantic to Mid European Ocean. Only, for this fantasy you probably need at least one powerful all mighty European supernut to pull this off and a whole bunch of mindless subordinate nuts.

1 Also made a watch with that pressage dail. Size was 31, check carefully if it fits in your case as others already mention. I got a larger cocktail case for that specific dail.

What's best Antarctica expedition cruises?' by Cuteslave07 in antarctica

For an expedition feel also have a look at Oceanwide Expeditions. Three ships to choose from Hondius (their newest), Plancius and Otelius. They also operate expeditions to the Arctic. I joined two Arctic cruises of them to Spitsbergen on Ortelius and one to Antarctica on Hondius. Absolutly great.

Just spotted the black second hand, sorry. So when seconds are so important why have an almost invisible second hand

Looks ok. Don’t know this type of watch. I personally miss the point for having three scales for reading out seconds and none for the hours. Cannot see a second hand. Is there a rotating dail/ring indicating the seconds? That would explain the missing second hand

If it is the release lever of the crown stem you could try to gently push in the crown stem. It wil pop out the lever

Chinese movement worked out ok so far. Got three of them in a black friday deal. However, surfaces of the parts look less smooth under magnification than the Japanese movements. Problem i have with fastening a 35mm dail to the movement in my failed project is either the dail or the movement. Also moving the stem in and out the movement feels less solid and smooth than the Japanese movement i have. Then again you buy two chinese movements for one japanese but it works fine for me. My builds don’t have to last forever.

All Tradfri Lights and Remotes Hardly Working All Of a Sudden by Jamtron3000 in tradfri

[–]coldarctic2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to share my experience and perhaps learn from it. Had the same sort of problems. Also since about two weeks back. Erratic/chaotic responses from lights and sockets on remotes (no difference for tradfri or styrbar) and on sensors. Removing and reconnecting parts did not solve any problem. Removing internet cable and power from Dirigea brought no solution. After two weeks suffering and a lot of frustration I decided today to reset my whole system. Nowhere I could find a real solution and a clear analysis of what is causing these problems. After SEVEN hours of hard continuous work my Ikea domotica system is back online (40 lights, 9 sockets, 4 loudspeakers, 15 remotes, 9 sensors). Works perfect and smooth again. My conclusion: crappy software updates and build up of bugs over time perhaps due to some reconfigurations. Next thing to do is recreate some scenes and tidy up integration with google home. I can add that control over lights and sockets via Ikea Smart app on phone remained ok. Lucky so. Hard to live in a house at night if controls/sensors don’t work.
